Constructive criticism is asked of you. If you do not agree with a selection could you please explain without being hostile. I take heed to all because I value every opinion to an extent of content.

I have notes that I wrote up within the link posted below. A few notes are missing at the moment because I’m going to finish up later.

I dont see Gordon slipping out of the top ten. And Hood and Saric are way too low imo.

I hope he wouldn’t slip but there is no such thing as a perfect Draft. Someone will slide and someone will move up to give us a WTF reaction. It happens every year so be prepared.

Agree with above comments. Overall I would give this draft a B+ or A-

Russ Smith is too high IMO. wouldn’t be surprised if he doesn’t get drafted.

I don’t see Gordon falling out of the top 10 either (even though maybe he should). I think Exum will be gone by 6 to either Philly or Orlando. Don’t see Jokic falling as far as 57 in a draft this weak in centres. Otherwise, it’s a pretty good effort. Mid first round always throws up surprises and nothing you’ve suggested would astonish me.

Will be modifying throughout the week so I will take the Jokic mentioning into heavy consideration.

That I’m starting to think is Philly will take Embiid.  They don’t want to be terribly good next year or they’ll lose their 2015 pick.  With Noel ready to go they can play him at center and get a good look at him while Embiid recovers. When Joel is ready to go they can experiment with them in tandem then make a decision whether to keep both or move one.

I just think, injury aside, that Embiid is a once in 10 year center and probably represents a very compelling reward to risk

Report out that Šarić has been given a promise by Denver at 11. He’s not interviewing for teams in the late lottery and he’s not working out for anyone. He definitely has a promise and I wouldn’t e surprised if it’s earlier than 11 too. I don’t think he would be satisfied with 11.

This is a first I heard of the promise. I appreciate the feedback.

I really like this mock draft. First 7 seven picks would be my choices as well. I tend to disagree with some picks later though. McDermott should make the top 10. We just can’t go with the lazy "White unathletic spot up shooter" sterotype. He is much more than that. I’d also take Gary Harris over Payton, Lavine and Stauskas. Late first rounds picks seem all right.

But what are you talking about with your claim that I did not speak on?

Why is Smart ahead of Exum. What suggests the Magic will pick Smart over Exum, aside from wanting him so badly last year? They could have just wanted him that badly because he was best PG available, and they needed one. In this draft there is a better PG available than Smart, (If you want to call him a PG) Exum. Okay the argument is there that he’s only played 4 competitive games to prove his worth, which we all know isn’t enough. But who says that isn’t enough, who says he won’t be great. Haven’t there been plenty of early international picks that turned out to be pretty good picks? (Andrea Bargnani, Danilo Gallinari, Ricky Rubio, Giannis Antetokounpo, Enes Kanter, Nikola Vucevic…) And who says the Magic won’t go big with their first lottery pick, and wait till their 2nd lottery pick to select a PG when 3 possibly 4 PG’s will be available? (LaVine, Payton, and Ennis, and Napier.)

The Celtics are said to really like Aaron Gordon. And he’s been doing well in his workouts. He migt be a 3 more than you think. He’s not just an energy guy. He can also play terrific D, and understands the game. He has the confidence to do anything, and you know what happens when a team likes someone that much. One thing is for sure he will not slip to 12. He is competing for a pick in the 5-8 range just like Randle and Vonleh are.

You might want to pay attention to the supposed Saric promise. I think he might go top ten.

I’m over debating the Smart vs Exum theory.

Moving forward to Boston. If you are that high on Exum like most are, what makes you think Ainge would pass up on him for Gordon. Every team likes every player, so to say the Celtics really like Gordon is really not saying anything at all.

If you are right and Exum drops to 5, I don’t think the jazz will pass on him.  I don’t think the Jazz’s back court is as solid as many people seem to think.  I think our front court is actually better off.  So while Vonleh is a great choice for the Jazz between Randel, Gordon, and Smart, I think they take Exum IF he is there…  Local utah papers are saying as much as well… though it all could be smoke screens at this point…

Patrick young gets drafted based on what exactly?  He’s not a offensive player, defense isn’t bad, below average rebounder
