r377ParticipantFree agent Derrick Favors has reportedly set up "a few" meetings with interested teams this summer.
Favors is unrestricted and has been clear that he’ll explore his options this summer. Soon after Utah’s season ended, he said, "I love my teammates, I love the organization … At the same time, I know that if I’m going to be here, there are certain sacrifices that I’m going to have to make." If another team offers him more money and/or a bigger role than Utah can promise, we could see Favors in another jersey next season.0 - Posted on: Wed, 06/27/2018 - 5:17pm #1120709

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantFavors is a bust. Let that guy walk.

HobbyOGParticipantYour troll game is starting to get corny..I’m surprise you didn’t compare him to Gelo Ball since you have Gelo balls in your mouth on every post..dude is far from a bust. He’s 26 and has been productive and a team player.

Lotto StudParticipantAs he should be exploring those options, because there is no personal gain from attaching himself to loyalty. Although he is a team player, his growth has been stunted because of his sacrifice. Derrick ‘Do No’ Favors should be in the same breath as DeMarcus Cousins by now.

celtics1982ParticipantHe’s not a good fit on the Jazz with Gobert in todays NBA. At the sametime he’d be really good for the Wiz and Bucks.

r377ParticipantYes he is much more productive as centre not PF. Agree with those teams. Also Dallas who are set to be after Deandre Jordan. I think Favors would be ok for them and would be approx half the cost.

festar35ParticipantObviously Dallas has the priority of DeAndre Jordan at this point, but Favors could be a really nice get for them at C – he still only 26 years old.

The GoatParticipantI cant believe hes only 26! Yeah a few people have said he should swap places with Jabari Parker. Probably a good fit for each.

SwatLakeCityParticipantAll this means is that Favors will do his due diligence. He will look into staying with the Jazz as well as moving to Phoenix, Milwaukee, Washington, Dallas and other teams that may pursue an interest in him. He does like it in Utah, and him staying in Utah is not out of the question. I’m not saying I think he’ll stay, I’m just saying he will look at all his options. Kind of like when your contract is up with your current apartment, you look at all your options including the option of staying.
I think Phoenix will be really enticing to him, they have a hole PF, even at backup C behind Ayton. It’s close to Salt Lake (only a 10 hour drive), even closer to Vegas than Salt Lake, he’ll be playing with young up an coming stars such as Devin Booker, Josh Jackson, and recently drafted DeAndre Ayton and oh yeah they did just recently hire former Jazz assistant Igor Kokoskov as their new head coach.

celtics1982ParticipantIn todays NBA. Just look at Horford, he plays more at center than PF. The days of playing a true C and PF are gone. Sure Ayton is a better scorer than Gobert, but you don’t want to clog the middle. Chriss and Bender are better fits for the Suns. I bet Warren and Jackson play a bunch of PF also. Think Embiid and Saric. Favors is best going to a team to play center, which is why he should leave the Jazz.

RUDEBOY-ParticipantI remember when Favors was coming out of Georgia Tech he was compared to Dwight Howard. After a few yrs in the league he’s finally reaching his peak. His offense has improved, can create his own shot,he’s Utah best post scorer and better at pick & roll than Gobert. Teams like the Bulls & Bucks have the money and assets to go after him in a sign & trade. But I doubt Utah allows him to Leave Town.

celtics1982ParticipantHe can do whatever he wants. Sure the Jazz can offer more, but they can’t stop him. Heck best case for the Jazz is a sign and trade.

Andv1 WaitingParticipantIf he is playing Center I could see these teams giving him a call:
Bulls-They don’t really have a starting Center and Lauri can play inside or outside so they could switch alot.
Bucks-Definitely an upgrade over what they currently are starting.
Indiana-Would be an interesting fit as you could slid Miles over to PF due to greater range.
Phoenix-Could take a chance on him to help you ease Ayton into it then have Favors be your 6th man + there would be some familarity between him and Igor.
Washington-He could fit in with Wall and Beal.
Atlanta could pay him and give him starting role straight away as they have essentially hit reset, so all roles are up for grabs…
Dallas if they miss out on D.J again…
and
Of course the Jazz if they want to keep the band together and just maybe add one last piece to their roster…Possible an upgrade at starting SF(I would probably have ingles be your 6th man). But they are most likely also an option but money and role eventually does become important this also forces him into the PF role due to Gobert…

dmo21ParticipantBulls have Lopez as a veteran center, Portis and Felicio who are decent options under contract as well as the newly drafter Carter who will most likely play center beside Lauri. I don’t think the Bulls need another center.
Indiana already has Turner and Sabonis splitting time at center and Young in the 4 spot. They also might be adding Gordon to that mix. I don’t think they need another big man.
Phoenix, I don’t think they are trying to compete just yet so signing a quality bigman like Favors isn’t a move I see them doing. And I don’t think Favors wants to be a backup to the #1 pick. They also already have Chandler for that.
I agree on the other 3. I really would like to see him go to Milwaukee.
