JJeff6Participant(Almost) Every team has that one or two guys who really jazz up the crowd and provide a much needed spark off the bench. I’m just asking, who is your favorite role player or role players?
Personally, I like Jared Dudley and Eddie House. Both guys provide a bunch of energy, both knock down clutch shots, and both really pump their team and the home fans up. (they also have a knack for SHUTTING the road fans up)

Lotto StudParticipantLou Williams hands down tops the list of role players. He proves himself night in & night out, but his best fit for the NBA is to come off the bench to be that spark ala Jamal Crawford/J.R. Smith.

wd40rocksParticipantEarl "Nacho" Watson- He is not going to drop twenty on anyone but he finds a way to score and plays great defense.

BigDParticipantdoes Landry Fields count as a role player? he does all the little things needed to win games. Rebounds, defends, does the hustle players, hits the open shot when called upon. Most teams would love to have him.

justincParticipantlandry starts i think so why would he be considered a role player.
0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/27/2011 - 4:25pm #479661
BigDParticipantBecause he isn’t anything else but a role player, role players can still start, does that mean people like DeShawn Stevenson is more then a role player because he starts?

RickyRubio9ParticipantRole Players can’t be Starters?
People always talk about Shane Battier being a Great Role Player yet he’s started almost his whole Career0 - Posted on: Thu, 01/27/2011 - 4:27pm #479664

iguapops420ParticipantRobert Horry is my all time Favorite Role Player. I’ve always had a soft place in my heart for Sasha Vujacic as well. He may suck, but man that guy hustles and provides some awesome comedic relief.

iguapops420ParticipantI was only listing role players who came off the bench. My favorite starter role player is Dennis Rodman no questions asked, and Horry is second, and it isn’t even close.

ilike.panochasParticipantAnthony Mason was my favorite role player, specially when he was with the Knicks. I love it how he sometimes would play point-forward, I just thought it looked weird and funny because he moved so stiffly and unorthodox.

iguapops420ParticipantDidn’t Moochie end going crazy. I remember the Knicks putting Mason as a pointforward as well. He was actually fairly efficient doing so.
