cp33ParticipantI was just wondering who are your favorite players who are not considered stars in the league. These can be hustle players, or these can be guys who played at your favorite college, or just guys who can do it all.
I’d have to go with Jared Dudley. its amazing to me how this guy is in the league. One NBA scout said that Jared Dudley would not pass any of the physical tests to make it into the NBA. This guy hustles 100% of the time and seems to be involved in almost every game, whether it shows in the box score or not. He has great basketball I.Q. and he is really pesky. He is turning into the next Bruce Bowen. Even Doc Rivers said he was the reason they won the game against the C’s. He can hit the three now too and with Nash finding him wide open, he could have a great year.
I am watching him right now and I’d say his play is the also the reason they won the game against the 76’ers. No, not J-Rich’s 28. No, not Steve Nash’s 20 assists. Those did help but if Jared Dudley did not play in this game, the Suns could have lost by at least 10. He ended up with 18 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Whats amazing is, he played better outside of the boxscore. He had tipped passes, played great defense and help side defense, and he came up with a lot of loose balls.
He will most likely be the next version of Bruce Bowen or the Suns new Raja Bell. He will be hated by everybody but Suns fans.
Who are your guys favorite players like this? This is my top 5.
1.J. Dudley
2.Marc Gasol
3.Dejaun Blair
4.Derek Fisher
5.Louis Amundson0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/09/2009 - 4:45pm #228231

MagikKnickParticipantGerald Wallace, no one plays the game of basketball harder than he does….he does everything on the basketball court, defense, steals, blocks, dunks. if he ever develops a more polished offensive game, then he can easily become a star…imo, someone teach that man how to shoot!
I also love Anthony Morrow…..Lights Out.

grohe3ParticipantCorey Brewer and Al Horford
Im a big Florida fan but i think Brewer plays good d and has potential to be a solid offensive player and with Horford he is a good rebounder and scorer he just needs to move to his natural position at PF and he will be an all star hes a little undersized to play center with D-Howard and KG in the paint0 - Posted on: Mon, 11/09/2009 - 5:47pm #228255

llperezEarl Watson was one of my favorite Bruins, so I always pull for him.
Kirk Hinrich because he plays tough and is a leader on the court.
Corey Maggette, say what you want about his contract or his me first attitude on the court, the guy works hard and you never hear him complain. He’s a professional.

JJeff6ParticipantI am a HUGE suns fan… and i have to say that all of the things that cp33 said are totally correct. Jared Dudley is a hustler who makes an impact on the game no matter what. he plays great defense he knocks down clutch shots, he brings energy to the offense and defense. He is a hard worker and yes he i also see him as another Bruce Bowen. Anyone who follows this guy has to love him for the way he plays his outstanding work ethic.

marcusfizer21ParticipantMy favorite non-stars:
1. Walter Hermann – my favorite unselfish player for the Pistons squad…
2. Kirk Hinrich- He’s a Bull…need I say more?
3. Ronnie Price- can’t get over the Tomahawk on Boozer… so athletic yet underutilized..
4. Shelden Williams has started to grow on me… He has played well for the Boston Celtics…
5. Joe Smith- a solid and serviceable big man who is wanted by most NBA teams…

td8118ParticipantLamar Odom….the guy is one of the most talented players in the league and is to me the third biggest matchup problem after Dirk and Lebron….He has legitimate point guard skills is a very good rebounder and has a respectable jump shot….He has always been a product of what he is vs. what he could be, but i love watching him play

llpereztd8118- the thing about Lamar is that he is one of the truly uniqe players to ever play this sport How many 6-10 guys have his skills and ball handling?. He might not be an all-star, but it will be a very long time before we see someone like him again.
