DondiJohnParticipantAlmost a done deal. Insights? Knicks get rebounding and Nuggets get an athletic wing defender

bigblackNbeautifulParticipantIve heard the nuggys have shut the trade talks down. Makes sense. They cant really afford to loose a big right now.

SiggyParticipantI think they can afford to lose a big. Shaw supposedly likes Hickson more because of his offensive ability in the halfcourt. They also have Darrell Arthur on their bench who is a capable back up big. Wilson Chandler just came back and they’ll be getting Gallo back soon as well. That’s 4 guys who can see time at PF. Meanwhile, they’re starting Randy Foye at the 2…

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantEdit: Uhh Nevermind. What I said doesn’t really matter. The Nuggets are loaded at the 4, so freeing up some space would do some good.

SiggyParticipantYes, Wilson Chandler plays some 4. Last yr he actually spent more of his minutes at the 4 and did a little better at the 4 than at the 3.

Who knows when Gallo will come back, but the time table starts in Dec. I heard his tear was so minute that he didn’t even have to have it repaired. They’re just being cautious, but not having to have it repaired I think pushes his return date closer to Dec than Feb.
I don’t think Faried’s potential is all that great. IMO, he’s an athletic, energy player who projects to be… and athletic, energy player. Maybe he could become a better defender because right now he is a poor defender. How many energy players are poor defenders? Plus he’s up for an extension soon and Shaw would rather have a big that they can play inside out with. That isn’t Faried.
In any case I’d rather the Nugs not trade for Shump either. Not because I think highly of Faried, but because I’d rather see them give Fournier a shot first at the 2. I think he has really good potential.

r377ParticipantI got negged for saying the same thing about Fournier not getting enough minutes.
Denver have a few injuries and are in the tough west so I think they might even miss out on the playoffs this season.

For_Never_EverParticipantThe Knicks are a complete mess. If I could I’ll get rid of everyone other then Melo and Chandler.

ksmith9ParticipantI like the trade. I think Shumpert brings in the D they lost when AI 2.0 left for GS. And as far as the PF log minutes, couldn’t say it better than Siggy, As far as the Knicks they get some more insurance behind bargnani and in case they don’t get Stoudemire back ever at least they got an athletic guy who can give them blocks and dunks. Definitely would mesh well with Bargnani’s outside game. And it helps with the Chandler injury.
