    Article from Full Court Press-

Five days into training camp, Kings reigning Rookie of the Year Tyreke Evans admits his second go-round is shaping up to be tougher than his first.

“I think this one is harder,” Evans said. “I think we’re looking for a Playoff run here this year, so guys are really in here competing.”

Teammate DeMarcus Cousins agrees, stating the team’s physical and tenacious play has every player taking advantage of the team’s talented training staff to get treatment and keep after it.

When it comes to the Kings future, Sacramento’s aforementioned lottery picks have Kings fans around the world thrilled with the team’s potential. Though the pair shares a former college coach in John Calipari, they’ve just begun to become familiar with one another’s game. In limited time, however, the duo gives fans even more reason to have confidence in their Kings.

“Tyreke is crafty,” Cousins said. “A lot of people ask me, ‘What’s the difference between John (Wall) and Tyreke?’

“The only difference is speed and size, but they’re both crafty, they’re both tricky with the ball and they’re both great playmakers.”

So impressed with Evans’ game, Cousins elaborated.

“Tyreke is a great guard,” he said. “He’s unbelievable to play with.

“It was hard for me to defend John in practice, but it’s even tougher for me to guard Tyreke because he’s crafty and he’s quick,” the Kings No. 15 said. “People don’t really know how quick he is. He’s quick, plus he’s strong with the ball.”

Luckily for Cousins and Kings fans, when the games count, the first-year big man will be running alongside Evans.

“(He’s) such a great playmaker it makes it a lot easier for the rest of the team because you know he’s going to penetrate and you know he’s going to make a play, either making a basket or making that great play…playing with a guard like that, it makes the game a lot easier.”

Equally as impressed with his first week of play with Cousins, Evans sees a troublesome tandem for opposing teams.

“He has a big body,” Evans said. “He holds his man down, and gets extra rebounds. He’s skilled under the basket, and he takes his time. He’s looking pretty good so far.

“As soon as the season gets here, I know we’ll connect (on) pick-and-rolls, and he’ll knockdown that midrange shot and get some buckets, so I think we’ll be pretty good.”
