moximusParticipantSome people have comparing Turner and say his ceiling is a Jalen Rose, comparable height/build and skillset.
Can Evan Turner end up being a better overall player than Jalen Rose?

tli232Damn, a Jalen Rose mention regarding his actual basketball career; haven’t heard that one in a while.
I think in terms of stats, Evan’s prime should be pretty close to Jalen’s (18-20 ppg, 5-6 RPG, 4-5 APG).
However, I don’t see Turner being as much of a Black hole on offense. Even in Jalen’s best years, he would often just get post up position on the mid block for 3-4 seconds, start backing down his defender with a whole bunch of shimmy moves and take a turnaround 12-18 foot jump shot. His big guys never had time to get offensive rebounding position because Jalen’s shimmy moves fake out his own guys to an extent as well.
So, in the end, you have Rose posting up some smaller guy while his bigs try to stay out of the lane to give him space. It’s just too hard to be a winning team with a SG/ PG who sucks the ball up like that (unless you have Kobe/ Wade, then you’re ok).
While I think Turner can potentially be a more "winning" player with his overall game, It doesn’t look like he’ll develop a "semi-unstoppable" offensive skill like Jalen Rose’s ability to post up guards.

IndianaBasketballParticipantJalen could actually shoot the ball. Turner has to work on his jumpshot.

iguapops420ParticipantJalen’s game has become severely underrated IMO.
