Taylor Gang MikeParticipantMan did he look great tonight vs the bucks, him, meeks and holiday really looked good together.. I know Monta wasnt playing, but Brand, Iggy, Lou and Thad wernt either. Im sure the New owners of the Sixers looked at this and said maybe if we lose round one its times to build around them three plus Nikola… Et with ball in his hands looks very smooth, B Roy Like, and he is a reallt good scorer and creator.. I would compare him to Lebron or Jason Kidd, when he has the ball in is hands i mean.. He is nothing like them, but whenn he makes plays and scores when the game is coming to him, he is special. Imagine if Doug plays him 35 plus min a game
ET 29 points, 13 boards, 6 assists, 2 blocks
Meeks 27

joecheck88ParticipantI think they need to feature Evan Turner. I love AI but I think it is time to trade him and get a few good pieces in return. Feature Evan Turner as your number 1 option. The Sixers don’t have a star player but I think Turner has that ability. I’m not saying he is a true franchise player but I think he could be in that second tier like a Joe Johnson.

mosdefParticipantHe still needs to work on his shot. I think Roy was more athletic too

Tha King2121ParticipantYou basically wrote exactally what I would have said, I second that.
Also I need to start a Sign Kris Humphries campaign soild core with ET, Jrue, Humph, Nick V

apb540ParticipantI’m all for trading Iggy if we get the right thing in return, but what does trading him do to help Turner? Iggy definitely is not our primary ball handler like he used to be; hell if him, Jrue, and ET are on the court then Iggy would be the third ball handling option (made up term?). Like I said, trade him if you can get a Gerald Wallace-type deal.
There is a reason why Evan Turner is not doing what he did tonight on a consistent basis (outside of the fact that tonight’s game was essentially a glorified D-League game). There is a reason why Jrue Holliday did not progress at all this year. I really like both of them, but at some point I think we are going to have to decide between them because they are both too talented to not be primary ball handlers.

Tha King2121ParticipantI actually really agree with you there, Jrue or Evan. I really do think their management is thinking the same thing. Its just I can’t see them giving up on Turner. They can’t half a$$ this, if your going to make him the 1st option the do it and build around him. Give him a PG that isn’t in need for the ball who can also play off the ball. He needs a spot up shooter SF who is athletic and can run with him. Doug is all about PF/C that can shoot the mid-range and pick and roll.
Commit to each position, like stop trying to take role players and make them into starters, e.x. Levoy Allen, Craig Brackens, they fit in our system but I don’t see a future in them. Maybe Levoy at back-up PF. But understand that you need to give up on players, Exactually what they did with M16. Do it with Brackens and focus on the future starters.
Our Future starters at PG is Jrue. Fututre at SG is Turner. Future at SF is…no one, i don’t know if our front office thinks Sam Young is the answer. Iggy is out no doubt if we get bounced first round. Future at PF…No one, not Thad, hes more effective comming off the bench. At Center the future is…Spencer Hawes? I’m not sold that he is, having 2 role players with him and Nicola Vuceivic at Center isn’t really ideal.
I understand that major offseason moves are inevitable, we need to find an identity. Commit to something and have a plan which I don’t even know if they do. Having a bunch of role players that all fit and play hard isn’t going to get you far. My opinion is Commit to Evan Turner and build around him not with him. Other than that I have no clue what to tell you.

sheltwon3ParticipantI think the NBA continues to get talent but the team mismanage it. No way Turner should be still on the bench. Someone of that team should have been traded.. I love of teams could used Iggy. I don’t see him as a long term option.
I would not mind seeing Turner get move to the Suns. If Nash goes they could use him pair him Brooks or possibly Liliard if they can make a move and grab a draft spot to snatch him.

kobyzParticipantTurner in terms of skills and IQ basketball is elite and so qualitative, not fall from anyone, the problem with him is mentally, big lack of assertiveness and leadership, become too much time of the game perplexed, and not enough being "between ears", all this prevent him to display and produce his huge talent.

GTS 23Participantif he starts next year (that means at least 30 mins of playing time) i can see him averaging 18-7-6. you can compare him to joe johnson, but joe is a much better shooter.

omphalosParticipantI still think his poor wingspan will prevent him being a franchise player, he really struggles to make the guy he’s defending uncomfortable, and he isn’t a good enough shooter or athlete to compensate.

joecheck88ParticipantI’m not really trying to compare his game with Joe Johnson. I’m trying to say I think he could end up in that second tier of franchise players like Joe. You know, not a lebron, Durant or Kobe but like Joe Johnson, Danny Granger, or Rudy Gay. A guy that makes some all star games, is the main offensive option, and can get his team to a middle seed in the playoffs.
I just say feature Evan Turner to get some sense of direction for the franchise. Right now it just feels like a collection of talent going out to play. If you can trade AI for a good C or younger PF then I would do it. I think Jrue can play off ball well enough to stay around. Just try to build around ET and see where you make it. His jumper needs improvement but I am a firm believer in confidence. I think if ET knew he was getting 36 to 40 minutes a night he would shoot a little better just with the confidence.

HitsterParticipantGreat performance by Evan and he has progressed nicely this year but he still averaged under 10ppg in 26 mpg. He certainly needs 30 mpg minimum next year as he turns 24 this year, he is not some guy who was drafted at 19 and is still developing.
I don’t know what his upside is but I have a strange feeling it may be similar to Iggy’s. But Coach Collins has taken Philly to their first winning season in several years so they have a solid basis to build on and potential cap space going forward.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantTurner could either start at SG or become a 6th man, remeber Lou Williams and Jodi Meeks are due for new contracts…
Iggy could and should be traded for another lottery pick, I’m thinking they’d draft a Sf or Pf to replace Iggy or Brand…I like The Idea of adding PJIII, Moultrie, Henson or T.Rob to the mix…
The Sixers could definitly look to trade Iggy to a team with multiple Lottery Picks(Hornets or Blazers) he’d fit in both those places IMO
