TyroberParticipantI just got home from the Hawks game tonight vs the Sixers. I had two suite tickets and they were amazing and the Sixers destroyed the Hawks. They walked all over them. They were up by 30 points at the half! THE HALF! The final score was 117-83 and it was ugly! Everyone on the sixers team was really playing great…except for Evan Turner. It’s not like he had a bad game either. He finished with 8points 8 rebounds and 7 assists. That seems like a pretty good game for him but he got half the assists and rebounds in the 4th quarter during "garbage time". The Sixers were way ahead and all the starters were taken out of the game obviously since it was a huge lead. BUT the major thing I noticed when watching the Sixers was the lack of confidence with Turner. I noticed multiple times he was out on the wing WIDE open and they would pass the ball to someone else. He really struggled until the 4th quarter; thats when he was going up against the 2nd stringers and also played point guard during the entire 4th quarter. He played really good with the ball in his hands and ran the offense. It just seems like there is a huge lack of confidence in Evan Turner from his teammates. I think Turner can be a good player down the road, but I dont think having Iggy on this team is going to help his growth or really help the sixers win games. I think it would be best to move Iggy for some young talent and picks and let Turner develop.
Also Iggy is a freak of an athlete and Brand showed that he still has it tonight. He played very well.

Meditated StatesParticipantBe on the opening day roster. Turner needs to be on a team that is not wishing for the playoffs this year. He needs to be on a team where he can just have the ball and try to find out what he can and can’t do in the L. Cousins should have been their pick and they should have kept Iggy in their plans. Iggy is better than I believe Turner will ever be. Superior athelete man, with similar skills.

the microwaveParticipantmaybe im a little bit harsh here, but i saw the game too… We whipped them, so i wouldnt evaluate too much.. Jrue holiday our starting PG – had ZERO assists… Brand had only 5 rebounds..8 / 8 / 7 for a rookie who comes off the bench is impressive, and hes not even our 6th man…IMO Turner has played very well as of late. This was our first true BLOWOUT in a minute, so im not reading too much into who played well, and who didnt.. When your starting PG has zero assists and your up 63-33, im not too upset. Turner also shot 3-5 and was (+20 while on the court)… just saying.

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantHe’s having a very solid rookie season, nothing flashy…he’s the only rookie learning to play the game the right way…Besides Maybe Gary Neal and Gordon Hayward(Popovich and Sloane) none of the rookies playing major minutes or defined roles is learning how to win, play defense, run the offense and earning the respect of his team mates and coaching staff…Collins is a new coach on a team that started the season with a horrible 3 and 13 record, yet he’s cracked the rotation and played down the stretch of close games, things a coach would not do if he was fighting for a playoff spot and essentially his own job and reputation…

The Scare Crow ReturnsParticipantIn limited minutes of the bench…what would have had we started Turner and let him run like he did late… anyone making that excuse # it was a blow out” should ask themselves how many near triple doubles has any other rookie had in limited minutes coming off the bench…

Sonny RedParticipantYes, the Sixer players shy away from passing Turner the ball, especially when he’s on the perimeter. The thing that has been most obvious with his game this year is there is absolutely no smootheness about it, he has to work for everything he gets. I especially don’t like how he tends to dribble with his head down. He has gotten better as the year has gone on, I will give him that, but overall it has been a struggle. He and coach Collins will both admit that.
I watched the game lastnight too, and was surprised to hear Mike Bibby is only 32, it seems like he has been on the downside for the last four or five years.
