220ParticipantDoes anyone else watch The Jump. I love that the NBA has a dedicated show I just don’t like the host Rachel Nichols. She always seems so fake and her delivery feels forced. I wish they could replace her with Ramona Shelburne who is every bit as knowledgeable and a far more genuine/pleasant person. It’s just a shame because I don’t enjoy a show about the NBA as much as I should because of the host.

220ParticipantI assume from the negs I’m the only one who dislikes Rachel Nichols as a host.

dcaseParticipantI am with you not being a fan of Rachel Nichols. Although I have to admit I think she has gotten slightly better over the last couple years.

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantAll time worst ESPN personality……Jamelle Hill.

Reptilian MonkParticipantI think the Negs are for suggesting Ramona Shelburne

220ParticipantReally? What’s wrong with Ramona Shelburne? Personally I find her a much better host than Rachel Nichols.

mcbaileyParticipantRamona is really bad at TV. I think she gets nervous and forgets how to put together a complete sentence sometimes, which means that if she was the one responsible for driving the show like Nichols is, it would be borderline unwatchable. I do agree that Rachel can be a bit grating sometimes–she can’t shake the cadence she picked up from sideline reporting–but your alternative would be much, much worse.

220ParticipantI can’t say I agree though it wouldn’t have to be Ramona Shelburne. Every time I’ve seen her host The Jump I enjoy the show so much more. She’s far more comfortable on TV than Rachel Nichols. There are many options I’d prefer to Rachel Nichols if I’m being honest.

Meditated StatesParticipantI also agree Jamel Hill sucks but the station as a whole is UNWATCHABLE.

220ParticipantI like a few shows still, but the TV side of ESPN in general is fairly antiquated. Gone are the days you need to watch the channel every few hours to know what’s happening in the sports world. The internet gives you all the information you need in a fraction of the time. I had to laugh at a recent commercial saying something would be on Sportscenter because going viral for something dumb is far worse than being on Sportscenter for the same thing.
ESPN is trying to improve ratings with more personality based shows rather than hours and hours of Sportscenter, but the internet is still hurting them. I’m not sure what they’ll do to keep up, but they don’t have enough compelling personalities to get strong ratings all the hours of the day when actual games aren’t being broadcasted on ESPN.

HobbyOGParticipantI like Rachel Nichols over Ramona, she seems to have better chemistry with the other host, doesn’t matter who on the show.

kindofblueParticipantShe came up with show. She’s fine.

Scrooge McDuckParticipantRomona is better than nichiols. She is kind of a paraplegic which is the only reason people judge her. Wayyyyyy more knowledgeable than Nichols.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantRachel is Okay, way better to look at than Ramona or Jackie McMullin (although both Ramona and Jackie are better journalist IMO)
What I hate about most of the personalities in Sports Media is their Bias Opinions and "Rumor Milling"
Most of the Sports Media world is based out of LA or NY and they love to push the narative in the direction of those Markets…
If a player is disgruntle or possibly entering Free Agency, well of course they’re going to The Lakers or Knicks, hell why not both?
They never give any other Teams/Markets any attention and laugh off any reasonable rebuttals involving them…
Paul George was destined to sign with the Lakers if you followed Ramona and Rachel last year, they couldnt believe the Lakers didnt sign him this summer, they’re pushing the Kawhi and Butler to the Lakers trade rumors, even though both have showed they’re not interested in playing 2nd fiddle to LBJ (even after Leonard is traded to Toronto they swear he’s coming to play with The Lakers)
Now the narative being forced down our throats is, AD, KD and Klay are ALL JOINING THE LAKERS!?!
Like really? This summer was the 1st in nearly a decade the Lakers have signed a Primetime Free Agent, and it only took them hiring Magic Johnson and rolling out the red carpet to an aging Mega Star trying to plant his roots in Hollywood, New York’s last great Free Agent signing was an washed up Amare way back
I cant see The Pelicans trading AD to the Lakers, they nearly imploded when they tried to trade CP3 there a few years back, in fact trading AD to the Lakers would prove there is collusion in the NBA to make the Lakers relevent again…
The Warriors will not let Klay or KD leave without a valiant effort by Lacob and Kerr to keep them in house, why would either go leave for the Lakers? KD is trying to improve his legacy and Klay is in the perfect spot
I just want NON Bias reporting from ESPN, a worldwide Sports Media company that wishes to serve every market and fan…Fans will tune you out if they sense they’re being forced into liking certain players and rooting for the same 4 teams to Steal all the Talent in the NBA…The hell with the Warriors, Lakers, Celtics and Rockets..I’d like to see some more National Coverage, like what are the Grizzlies doing this summer?

BeastMode716Participantperson who got an opportunity that No one from the inner city would ever get sniff of
But that being said I can admit my bias – I’m not so much upset w/ her as the system that allows it – when you look up these people in the media almost all of them are very very wealthy, very connected families & that makes me sick
But that being said she tore Mark Cuban apart yesterday & he Deserved it – the women in the Mvs offices were being harrassed sexually for Years & Cuban did NOTHING & in my opinion he is getting a Free Pass
Rachel did a good job pressing & pressing & pressing him – but Cuban was able to writ e check & make it go away b/c he’s rich – see a trend here?

220ParticipantRachel does well in interviews and she did well with Mark Cuban yesterday as well.
I don’t think she’s a good host is all and I find I’m happy when she’s on vacation and someone else is hosting.
