McDunkinnot from espn but maybe the same thing?
The Jazz may soon be looking to fill the void left behind by Wesley Matthews, who signed a lucrative offer sheet with the Trail Blazers.
If they don’t try to bring back Ronnie Brewer, who was dealt to the Grizzlies at midseason, they could turn their attention to Shannon Brown or Roger Mason Jr.
The Deseret News reports that Utah has interest in both Brown and Mason Jr.

SwatLakeCityParticipantIf I were the Jazz, I would be more interested in Shannon Brown then Roger Mason Jr. because Brown is younger, and a little more athletic. Although what worries me is that I have heard Brown has had problems in the locker room, but maybe I am wrong. I know he has a lot of hops and is very athletic but I don’t see much work ethic or great all around presence in his efforts with the Lakers, but again maybe I am wrong. Mason Jr. is more of a veteran that you cannot get much out of. He is not the guy the Jazz should go for to replace Wesley Matthews because he is young and still has room to grow, while Mason Jr. and sneaking up on his last years in the NBA, while Brown is young and could still develop to be a good contributor, I just don’t know if he will be the guy the Jazz like and need to bring into their team. I don’t really associate Brown as being humble, to me he is more arrogant and a show off, which is just the kind of player the Jazz do not want. But again maybe I am wrong, I have not watched enough of his games to know what type of player he is. But I do think we should go for Brown instead of Mason Jr. unless Matthews is in fact the guy we need. I would love to keep Matthews, he has instantly on of my favorite Jazz players. I knew this would happen to, which is why I was hoping the Jazz would sign him to a contract before any team had a chance to take him. The Grizzlies did it with Rudy Gay, so why can’t the Jazz do it with Matthews, they may not be the same player but both I think are significant pieces to their team.
