they could use him over thier current sg if hes healthy and the hornets are likely to lose him anyways. would it be crazy to trade him for the blazers lotto picks  hes a former all star so has the ability I know hes a risk but the draft isnt guarenteed to produce a player of his caliber where they are drafting.

He said he is open to staying with the Hornets. I’m sure the 1st pick had something to do with that. That said, I believe the Hornets will match whatever offer.

He’s a RFA. The Hornets can match any deal he receive.

in this draft would it be worth keeping him?

You keep Gordon. He’s good for 20 a night. Hornets have 2 top 10 picks.

You don’t move him for draft picks. Just take his production and build around it.

I like Gordon’s game, but he’s missed a lot of time. About 20 to 30 games a season. If I was the Hornets I would trade him to the Wiz for the 3rd, Cavs for the 4th or the Blazers for Matthews and the 6th.

If they can get the 6th and 11th for Gordon, I think you do it.. You can build a whole team and let them grow together. While Gordon is gna want out and get in a better situation.

As much as I don’t want to believe about the curse in Portland, I’m just scared that if he does go there, his career will be plagued by injuries.Too many players have already experienced it when they were playing there (Roy, Oden, Fernandez, Elliot Williams, Mills even McMillan). He should just stay with the Hornets since they’re getting Anthony Davis and hopefully a good player with their 10th pick.

You can do a sign and trade, but you cannot trade an asset in return for the promise that a team will decline to exercise their right of first refusal. Generally, teams do a sign and trade when a player really wants out of their situation and the team does not want/ or does not have the leverage to keep them around. I dont think either of these situations will apply here. Also free agency is like 2 weeks after the draft so trading gordon for any picks would be impractible because they cannot even negotiate with him to do a sign and trade until two weeks after the draft.

If Gordon is healthy, he is top 10 shooting guard with ability to move into the top 5.  You do not let a player like that go because you can built a team around him.  New Orleans was lucky to get Davis to add to Gordon. They could rebuild like OKC and in 3 years be in the title game or be competing with OKC for that spot.

Eric Gordon would be a great fit with just about every team in the league, hes a top 5 SG when healthy and a perennial 20ppg scorer, who can do it in a variety of ways (which is surprisingly rare among the elite scorers nowadays). Hes not going anywhere. Gosh if he did and the Hornets could pull off a sign and trade for the 6th and 11th picks, the Hornets could draft almost their entire starting 5.

    Jack-Beal-Ross-Davis-Leonard

    Vasquez-Henry-Ariza-Okafor-Smith

Not a great team, but suprisingly intriguing and a team I would certainly be excited about haha…too bad this aint NBA 2k13

no doubt when hes healthy eg is a legit upper tier sg in the league its just that he misses games every year and i dont know if id wanna start the rebuilding process by maxing out a guy with so many injury concerns

No team wants 4 rookies at once that way.  It would really stunt the development of all of them.
