    In Stern’s defense, he couldnt have possibly known that Gordon was going to blow his knee up in the 1st game of the season. And after seeing how Odom and Scola have played this year.. IF they can get Gordon to re-sign in the offseason, it might end up being the best deal they could have got, anyway. Only time will tell.

    It’s still the best move the Hornets could have made bar getting Dwight to pair with CP3 (which is obviously ridiculous). They’ve got a top-5 draft pick, a mid first-round pick from Minny and a great collection of role players and youngsters with upside.

    The Hornets weren’t going to win many games this season regardless, so Gordon going down just gives them a better chance to rebuild quicker.

    Hopefully he’ll stick around, because they could be competitive as soon as next season ala Utah Jazz.

     Gordon is probably the best young 2G in the league right now, but he isn’t big and he isn’t a dead eye shooter. He is kind of like a Gilbert Arenas in that it is a combination of speed and coordination that makes him deadly. If this injury costs him a step, he might drop in ability very significantly. I hope for Hornets he gets back and they get to see what he can do before they have to offer him a long term contract.

    Stern obviously can’t have forseen the injury. But still I think this is Karma for Stern messing with things up (lockout bullsh!t and trade bullsh!t).

     Gordon is a better shooter than Arenas by far.

    And this isn’t a blown knee… This is arthroscopic knee surgery. This isn’t a torn meniscus, ligament, etc. Just a clean up and better inside look at the knee. They’ve already done a MRI and confirmed that there’s no structural damage to his knee. Athletes get these all the time.

     Which is impressive by the way.. Not even ten years ago it seemed simple knee procedures knocked players to the point of no return… Physical therapy and post surgery routines have improved tremendously…

    @Bmore_DC

    I don’t think think a scope to look inside of his knee and maybe smooth some areas or clean up some particles is serious enough to affect his dollars. I mean, am I missing something?

    The only worry would be if they get in there and find something that the MRI missed, which is highly unlikely since he’s been examined a few times this season and the doctor who performed his MRI deemed him just needing rest and having no structural damage.

    Even if there are no structural damage to his knee, the guy hasn’t played more than 62games in 3seasons, I would be weary to invest close to a max contract to anyone that has that type of injury pattern.

     This is sad for Eric Gordon, and for New Orleans? Moot point. I thnk the Hornets will get Gordon back for a decent discount ( He expects a max contract, he might get like 5/45) and they get to lose games and continue to fight for a shot at Anthony Davis and pray Minny falls back to like 10th in the lotto.

     @IndianaBasketball…

    i see your point, but when you go under the knife, no matter what its for, its not a good sign…he has been hurt a lot over the last couple years and you cant honestly say this is good

    I really hope Gordon gets it right and gets on the court, but David Stern is an idiot. I’m sorry but I’d rather have Scola, Martin, and Odom than a guy with iffy knees and a pick that may or may not be of any value. Maybe part of the plan was to stink it up and get a high pick of their own, but a lineup of Jack, Martin, Odom(at the three, would be a HUGE matchup problem), Scola at the four, and Okafor at the five. You have Vasquez and you have Vasquez and Ariza off the bench. Not the flashiest team, but that is a solid playoff team no doubt about it.

    But this doesn’t mean Stern had a bad idea. I am convinced that Gordon can be a 23 ppg scorer on a winning team, Aminu may flourish into a great talent, the minny pick is where the trade goes south for NO, and Kaman will likely walk, but if they can get say a Harrison Barnes and a Tyler Zeller, added with another bad season, resulting in another top pick, that might be a good start.

    It may be better to rebuild through the draft, start with a great talent, rather than get stuck in No Man’s land with an annual second round exit ala the Hawks

    The Hornets would have been an average Team had the original deal with The Lakers and Rockets gone through, yes it meant taking a step backwards in the standings and aquiring a few pieces that may not pan out(Gordon and Kaman)…Gordon may be a risky pick going forward, this was the year I expected Eric to make the jump to All Star, now I think he’ll have to work hard next year to regain some of the momemtum he was gaining in LA(He’ll be In New Orleans with a 1 year Qualififing Offer next season, I see Him in Indiana the year after that)

    I believe I was the first one that Declared the T Wolves pick wasn’t as High Value a Pick as everyone thought, I still think the Wolves have a shot at the 8th seed in The West, making the pick involved in the Chris Paul trade The 16th- 18th pick in the 2012 Draft, not the Top 5 pick everyone claimed, LOL…yes Minnesota can fall off in the standings and make the pick a higher one, I believe The Hornets thought they could trade Kaman for some value as he is a Talented Big with an expiring Deal but I guess no one took the bait(I would have liked to see Kaman in Detroit but Im just a Basketball nut like that)…Aminu is the guy I’d keep my eye on, he may be the best player involved in the deal or become a Huge Bust, I’m still holding out hope he can become the player I thought he’d be by his 3rd or 4th year,but I also thought he was going to have a 2 inch growth spurt ala Paul George and John Wall *Allegedly*

    ^I agree with what you said, but I think you meant the Hornets, not the Nuggets.

    Edit: Nevermind, you got it.

     I can’t edit most of my post once I’ve posted them for some odd reason(my falling out with Mollum maybe???)

    and since I write so fast sometimes I don’t cacth the mis-print until it is too late…I got that one though, I almost sounded like an a complete A Hole(In a Non Jeremy Lin/Dragon Ball Z/Wrestling thread)

    P.S…If guys started out with wrestling then I would of jumped on board, hell if guys started it off talking about Anime in general and Dragon Ball got brought up early on I think I would have reacted differently, meh I was likely stoned anyway "RVD420 FTW"…

    P.P.S Vegata sounds like Vagina, just saying…Lol…I’m just playing …To each his own, I love the Watchmen Novel and one of the characters is a Blue Naked Guy…sorry for the earlier rant…

    ^That thread is pretty crazy. It’s like they have their Dragon Ball Z tribe, but the name of their territory is "Lin City", hence people talk about Lin, yet they ostrasize you and create their own little cult and take you to their torture chamber and forbid you to ever speak of the Jeremy Lin. They don’t accept appologies either, only sacrifices……..
