Had it not been for injuries Eric Gordon would be a top 10 player in this league right now. He would be better than Harden, Westbrook and Curry and be the 2nd best guard in the league behind CP3. Here’s why

Eric Gordon had Rose and Westbrook Type Athleticism and explosiveness, Very Good 3 point shooter, and was a bulldog Defensively while having there scoring ability while being highly efficient despite being 6’3 at the 2 guard position. Which one of those guys has that package? Gordon was a better/is a better shooter than Westbrook, was a much better defender than Westbrook and just as good of a scorer. While being more efficient, and didn’t jack up the kinds of shots Westbrook does.
Curry just doesn’t having Gordon’s Athleticism or defensive ability and Gordon scores just as good as him.

Harden would be close but Gordon had the edge in athleticism and explosiveness and 10x the better defender.

How would he not be better? Do people forget that Eric Gordon was the defensive stopper for Team USA in 2010?
MVP Rose? Gordon was still a much better 3 point shooter and defender with his scoring ability and explosiveness.
Its funny how people think Klay Thompson might be the best 2 guard in the league, he had NOWHERE near the talent Gordon had. Gordon was better than him on both offense and defense and was twice the athlete. Yes Pre injury Gordon was a better defender than Thompson is now.

Maybe the craziest stat of the season so far and its MIND BLOWING.
Four regulars who average <1 touch per minute this season: Eric Gordon, Wesley Johnson, Ben McLemore and Bojan Bogdanovic. (via SportVU) ONLY 3 players in the NBA average less touches per game than Gordon. How is that possible? Wes Johnson playing for the Vet Min, Bens a 2nd player and Bojan is a rookie. Gordon makes nearly 15MIL. How does Monty Williams sleep at night watching Holiday and Evans dribble the air out of the ball and have Gordon sit in the corner like he’s Mario Chalmers playing with the Big 3. Gordon is taking 9 FGA this season Evans is at 17.

Yes Gordon has lost a step, probably a lot more but man get this man the ball more.
DON’T say he’s the 4th option and that’s why his number are down. How about last year? Holiday and Anderson were lost for the season in January and Gordon still averaged career lows? How? How do u average Career lows playing alongside Bran Roberts, Aminu and Ajinca.

Gordon Will never be the same and it’s a shame. Here what he was doing his 3rd in at age 21.

Eric Gordon is DONE. His athleticism and explosiveness are NEVER Coming back, and he will remain a marginal starter at best. R.I.P young EJ.

Though I agree with you he’d be an all-star caliber player I hesitate to assume he’d be better than Westbrook Curry and Harden, that’s a little rediculous to predict.

And what your reasoning for that? Did he not have there talent level? Who could play on both ends like he could?

Yeah I think a move to Phoenix would have saved his career, sucks that New Orleans matched his deal.

It’s hard to say… It really just would’ve depended on what Eric Gordon kept adding to his game. He had little to no in between game. He’s also always been an average ball handler and despite his willingness to pass/make the right plays, he’s never had great vision or been a great passer. He’s never been an all-around player either… He gives you basically no rebounds.

I’ve been a big Gordon supporter since he was 10 years old and it’s killing me to see him right now. He’s lost a step or two as an athlete, but he’s better than this… I can’t stand watching Pelicans games because he barely touches the ball. I love watching Anthony Davis, but I’m sick and tired of watching Jrue Holiday and Tyreke Evans dribble the air out of the ball, while he stands in the corner. He’s defending extremely well so far this season, but he has no role offensively…

I know there’s little to no chance he would, but I damn near wish he’d opt out of his contract and go to a different team next season.

Yeah, I am sure he is not what he used to be, but I doubt he is this bad. Outside of their front court, it is hard to like the rest of the team. Asik was a really nice pickup and should help save some of the wear on Davis, then Anderson has his games, but the rest of that roster just doesn’t work. It seems like one of those teams where you could find lesser players than Holiday and Evans and end up with a better team.

What about last season? Holiday and Anderson lost for the season in January, And Gordon starting alongside Roberts, Aminu, and Ajinca and he put up career lows? how? Gordon has become passive and disappears way to often even when the opportunity is there. He Never demands the ball and never wants to take over. He’s lost confidence in his ability

If it wasn’t for injuries Brandon Roy would be a top 10 player and the Best SG in the NBA. He was crafty, a sneakily good athlete and was a clutch shooter.
