Tongue-Out-Like-23Participanthttp://espn.go.com/nba/story/_/id/8576622/eric-gordon-new-orleans-hornets-indefinitely
The New Orleans Hornets again will be without a key piece of their rebuilding project, saying that guard Eric Gordon is out indefinitely with a right knee problem."He’s going to be out," coach Monty Williams said Wednesday morning, according to The (New Orleans) Times-Picayune. "The way I understand it, he’s going to be out indefinitely until we get some more clarity on what’s going on so I don’t have to answer these questions every day and give you guys the update. We’ll just go from there."
Gordon played only nine games last season because of a bruise to that knee, and he underwent arthroscopic surgery in February, but the Hornets still matched the Phoenix Suns‘ four-year, $58 million offer sheet this summer.
Gordon, who has averaged 18.2 points per game in four NBA seasons, began full contact workouts Sunday, but by Tuesday the team said he was still experiencing pain in the knee.
"He probably does feel pain; that would be the only reason why a guy can’t play," Williams said, according to the newspaper. "For me to try to read an MRI . … I’ll find out more as we go forward. I try to not get into all that because that would just make me upset."
Rookie Austin Rivers will start at shooting guard in Gordon’s place Wednesday against the Spurs.
The Hornets acquired Gordon before last season in the deal that sent All-Star point guard Chris Paul to the Los Angeles Clippers. The Hornets were hoping for Gordon to form a nucleus with Rivers and 2012 No. 1 pick Anthony Davis as they look to bounce back from a 21-45 season.

BostonkingsParticipantEJ can never catch a break can he??? I wonder what the problem could be, I’m worried that these injuries will derail his career if this stuff keeps happening, get well soon!

Wavy BagelsParticipantThe Hornets messed up when they matched his offer sheet. They should have let him walk (no pun intended) because of his injury history and him not wanting to be apart of the organinzation in the first place.

MUbballfanParticipantI’d recommend picking up John Wall and Stephen Curry as well.

jeff416ParticipantThose would be excellent additions! I might start off 0-4 or 0-5, but when everyone gets healthy, I will be unbeatable!

MUbballfanParticipantBrandon Rush is a hot seller right now! Would be a good addition to your bench.

The8thDeadlySinParticipantThey can still bomb and be in a better situation if they had just let him go.. If he gets healty and shows what he can do, they could trade him for an expiring contract and first round picks. They could draft a big man to go with Davis or they could get a PG to help Rivers.
Regardless, any team that has Anthony Davis and Austin Rivers both starting on opening night, has a bright future ahead..

goodsontheParticipantHonestly, I just feel like he doesn’t wanna play there. You can tell by Monty’s response he prob feels the same way.

IndianaBasketballParticipantThey’ll do another MRI and see if they missed something during the first cleanup procedure. Until then, it’s really hard to say. They haven’t released very many details. Based on reports, there’s been no swelling. His situation sort of reminds me of Danny Granger’s here in Indiana.
Unless the MRI reveals something they missed, I can’t see him missing too many games.
