GodfatherParticipantyeah, sure they are very important, but they get way too much criticism and attention.
5 out of the last six were either fired or not asked back within three years of winning that award
four out of the last five were fired the next year. (Good Luck, Brooks)
In my mind, you have the top of the line coaches
Jackson, Poppovich, Sloan
Then the awful coaches
Isiah thomas.
Pretty much everyone else in between is fairly similar. Some are better than others, but it also has to do with how they fit the team. I think coach drama is complete bull doody. He isn’t the one on the floor making shots, turnovers, whatever.
Pat Riley, arguably the best of all time wins 15 games in a season that DWade plays 51. Lets say you win no games without DWade. That is 15-36 with Wade. Two years removed from the best postseason performace I’ve ever seen.
Sure, the rest of his team SUCKED BUTT, but if you are such a good coach, couldn’t you win SOME MORE???
Yeah, coaching is very important, but how important is it?
