I know he isn’t a "sexy" prospect as he isn’t an elite athlete, but he has been getting way less respect than he deserves. He was considered a top 10 pick for the majority of the year and is an underrated athlete with off the charts intangibles. Solid shooter. Night and day better than MCW was at Syracuse, obviously without as much potential. 6-2 cerebral, pass first point guard who doesn’t turn the ball over. Has he really dropped to the 7 th or 8th PG?

I dont think he’s being slept on.. Most GM’s will be shy to pull the trigger on a freshmen PG not named Derrick Rose, he’s not going to be ready to play right away and being on the bench could hurt his development.. just take a look at how many freshmen pgs actually come out and how many actually get drafted in the lottery.. I can only think of Marbury and Rose

LambThe Beast03…….Ennis was night and day better than MCW was at Syracuse?  Maybe if you only compare their freshman years, where MCW didn’t get much playing time.  But if you compare Ennis to MCW’s sophmore stats they are very comparable.  Ennis shot the ball slightly better, scored 1pt per game more and didn’t turn the ball over as much.  MCW averaged more assists, rebounds, blocks and steals.

I’m a big fan of both and hope that Ennis doesn’t slip too far in the draft but most importantly he lands on a team where he fits and can grow into a solid NBA PG.

 I’m torn on Ennis.  Intangibles are off the charts.  Kid hit that running 35 footer at Pitt for the win which was an ice cold shot.  Cuse did start like 24-0 and lost 5 of their last six or something crazy with an embarrassing home loss to Boston College.  I don’t think that was Ennis’ fault.  At the end of the day I think he’ll be a solid starting point guard in the league and have a long career.

 He really reminds me of Derek Fisher when Fish was with the Lakers. 

In a league that’s dominant on wing scoring and ball handeling (MOST(not all) of championship teams in the NBA have had their main ball handler be a big Wing in the lebron, kobe mode. 

I dont see an elite point guard, in the way that we tend to look at prospects, really creating a god cohesion with that type of player, or be able to deal with bigger defences as the big guy. Chris Paul really struggled with this in the playoffs this year as the go-to on the clippers. All those clutch TO’s he had in their elimnation series (forget who at the moment) were cause by him getting amost the trees and just not being able to operate. 

Ennis strikes me as a Winner above all else. I think he will beef up, become a smart, heady defender to make up for his athleticism deficiency. He really strikes me as someone who could really maximise a superstar wing by not turning it over, smartly running the offence, and having a game that fits in the seams of the offence, so to speak, rather than making the system mold to him. 

I almost hope he falls so he can get in with a team that will maximize him, and what he offers. I see a very long career for him.

But he carved out a nice career, even catching an All-Star appearance. I can see Ennis producing similar lines to Jameer, probably not as much scoring, but I could see a 15/8 year in his prime.

I love Ennis for what he was able to do at Syracuse my senior year, but he’s likely going to be a solid backup PG or a below-average starter.  I think going to Chicago at 19 is a perfect situation for both him and Chicago.

Just these scenerios dont exactly show the players full intagibles. You cant view a players poise, leadership, ball iq for the most part in these workouts. Ennis is a floor general with a high ball iq that is extremely confident in his abillities and a great leader thats why teans value him. He isnt the most athletic in game, and he doesnt have the 25 shots in a game mentality.

i like him for the knicks, i think he’s the type PG they need and would start… give them starting lineup that worth a playoff…

He’s not really a fit in the triangle offense though. I think they’d be better off taking a front court guy that can pass like Anderson or McGary (which they could realistically get in the 25+ range if they can find a team to trade with.

I think he would be PERFECT to go to New York and learn the triangle from Fisher under the eye of Phil Jackson, but they’ll have to trade into the draft.

He’s always reminded me of Fisher ( 13/5 young Fisher ), and I think he’d play great in the triangle, and next to an elite wing. Sure, Melo has opted out, but I think the Knicks will be back in play here for another one in a year or two.
