tonyl33ParticipantAfter watching the Cuse and NC game Friday night, I saw what an empire state of mind did to Wes Johnson. As a Cuse fan myself, I didn’t think they would be this good this year. I should of known better as a Cuse fan that they had someone speicial on the team. Wes Johnon went lights out on the Tar Heels Friday night, showing his range (even NBA 3 range), his mid game post up moves, and his ability to drive to the rim. He’s got to be a lottery pick this year if he keeps his game up. Scary part is, Jimmy B said he’s not even at his full potential and is still rusty. I’m just going to imagine how good this kid becomes as the season goes on. He’s a go to player and is a star in the making in the state of NEW YORK.

SlimParticipanthe’s not at his full potential,
I’m not jealous of this guy its just that his upside is very good impointangibles will come into play as far as NBA success >:D
that being said Syracuse is more experienced than UNC
he is a junior and I think it is time that he makes the jump to the NBAis it just me or does the NCAA seem diluted?

gatorheelsParticipantYeah Wes Johnson has looked really good so far but it is still early. I wasn’t that impressed with him at Iowa St. a couple years ago but right now it looks as though he has really improved. He has worked hard in the weight room, he was skinny at Iowa St. I’m not sold on Syracuse being a top 10 team though.

tonyl33ParticipantAfter watching the UNC and Cuse game, I would consider Cuse a top 10 team if UNC is consider a top 10. I belive Cuse and UNC is just as well expreince.
Lost:
Cuse: Losing; Flynn, Devendove, and Harris,
UNC Losing; Lawson, Hansbrough, Green and Ellington.Returning players;
Cuse: Onuaku, Jackson, Joseph, Jardin and RautinsUNC: Dean Thompson, Ed Davis, Zeller, Drew
Cuse has the slight edge on UNC with players with expreince but not by much. I believe this is a very good Cuse team because their so well balance playing inside and outside on offense. I love Flynn’s game but it was mainly the Flynn show last year and he was unstoppable. This year the ball is being shared between all 5 players on the court making them a very dangerous team.

gatorheelsParticipantI don’t think UNC is a top 10 team either. I think both Syracuse & UNC are both probably realistically ranked in the top 15 to 23 range.

tonyl33ParticipantSyracuse will always be underrated by most people in my eyes because they like to play the 2-3 zone. Every year they get over looked by everyone saying Cuse is just an okay team. I think this is going to be a deadly Cuse team like the 2004 team with Melo. I’m not going to compare Wes to Melo because that is not even close make both these cuse team have something similar. They have the all around game from the inside to the outside. Rick Jackson and Onuaku dominating the inside with thier huge size making teams collapses on D and they ball gets kick out too a lot of shooters on the cuse team who can hit shots from the outside with Wes, Rautins, Jardine, and Triche. I really didn’t think they were an elite team until after watching this tournament.

RICO 1981Participantas a cuse fan also, i didn’t think we could beat UNC. I mean UNC’s front line is like an NBA front line, with all that length and athletic ability. I think after they get some more games under their belt, UNC will be killing people. Cuse will hover around top ten all year, because the Big East is down this year. I’m glad that Johnson can make up for the lost of flynn.
