It looks pretty much locked that Wall,Turner,Cousins,Monroe,Aminu,Favors,Whiteside,Henry,Johnson,Aldrich,Motiejunas,Patt are bests but then.. there is a few spots in lottery or teens that anyone could up and down in our mocks..so i tried to find a guy who most likely will up a bit after workouts or/and combines..
and there is Elliot Williams.. not saying he is lottery talent but the kid has potential, the sophmore avg 19&4&4 good scorer, can shoot threes and is really athletic, good rebounder for undersized guard and good playmaker for the guy who is not a point guard..
    what’s your thoughts on him?

I have watched him almost every game this season and he could be a very good pro. He’s very athletic, can get to the free throw line almost any time he wants, has good form on his jump shot, and is a good passer. But he needs to get better at going right, being a better ball handler, and get a mid range game. I would take him somewhere in the first round depending on what the team needs. And also alot of people say he’s undersized he’s closer to 6’5 than 6’4 and he has long arms and is pretty athletic so he will be fine as SG in the NBA.

hes a pretty good player.. i think some of those names might not go as high as people think depending on there work outs. tonight ill get to watch the whiteside kid so i can figure out which side of the arguement about him is close to being right. from what ive read about williams though is that hes a lil shorter then 6’4. of course no one knows till he gets drafted though even if he stands next to another player because that players hasnt been measured at the combine as well

James Anderson is getting a lottery ticket as well, so there might not be room for Elliot.

i was in the tunnel as memphis came out and williams is atleast 6 5 in shoes but the problem is he didnt defend well score well or do anything that game against a sub 500 team in houston in conference play. i see the upside but he has alot of work to do to be even a solid pro.

we will see how tall he really is when he goes to the predraft camp. too many peopel on here have stood next or watched in person or stood close to this or that guy think they know there height and then come to find out the guy isnt that height. not that it matter if his reach is long. plus most people dont walk stright up or even stand straight up. someone said they stood next to blake and he was 6″8 last summer

I like Elliot Williams as a draft prospect. Him and Witherspoon are really all of Memphis’ scoring now, Sallie and Mack really are just streaky shooters. I think Witherspoon will be a pretty good NBA player in his own right too.

I completely agree about the Witherspoon part, I think Williams should be a pretty decent NBA scorer, but that is just me.

Wesley Witherspoon is the best prospect on that Memphis team. Talk about a Swiss-army knife. He can do a little bit of everything, and a lot a bit of defense. I think he can be a Tayshaun Prince type player in the NBA.

Elliot Williams is going to be strictly a defensive specialist in the NBA, in the mold of a Mikael Pietrus or Dahntay Jones. He’s a good athlete and transition player offensively, but he can’t handle the ball that well. He’s more like Pietrus now because he can make spot up shots. I think he can be a solid pro, but he’s nothing more than a 4th or 5th option on offense who scores off spot-ups and in transition the vast majority of the time and plays aggressive defense.
