jeff416ParticipantElliot Williams had another great game today with 22pts 6rebs 4ast 5stls as Memphis beats Montana State 76-51. Right now Memphis is 6-1 with there only loss coming to #1 ranked Kansas and theyonly lost that by 2. So far Elliot has looked very good and Elliot is looking better than Tyreke Evans and Derrick Rose did at this point in the early season(to be fair Elliot is a sophmore and they were freshmen). He has been very consistant and has only been held under 20pts one time and then he had 19, he has improved his shot alot since last year, at Duke he shot 50% from the free throw line this year he shoots 73% from the line. So where do yall expect him to be taken in the draft and how good of NBA player do yall think he will be?

WhyParticipantVery good question. To be honest, I haven’t seen much of Memphis. I saw the KU vs. Memphis game and thought Williams was the best player on the court most of the game. He was the only one who really seemed to impose his will effortlessly. Sharron Collins you could argue, but I don’t see him being as good at the next level.
So basically I’m interested in some opinions on this too because I have no clue. Looking at his build and his stats it would seem he has the chance to be something. But I don’t want to declare something I don’t know more about.
Intriguing prospect I guess, sorry that I probably didn’t help

D7H7NParticipant6-4 tweener. His ballhandling skills are alright, not great. Explosive athlete; can jump out of the gym. Problem is that he still hasn’t developed a reliable jumpshot and tends to go left alot.
Needs to work on his jumpshot first, and then develop some PG skills imo.
I think his potential would be Monta Ellis, while his low would be Jerryd Bayless.

jeff416ParticipantHes listed at 6’5” now so he has pretty good heigth for a SG and he looks like he has gained muscle to so he can play the 2 at the next level without giving up to much heigth to most SG’s. His jumpshot and ball handling have improved ALOT this year but he still could use a little work but he has great form and if he keeps on improving he should be a pretty good shooter some day. But I agree he needs to work on going right he does tend to go left alot more. Ive wached every game of his this year and most of Tyreke’s last year and he looks as good of a NBA prospect as Tyreke did last year.

JNixonParticipantElliot Williams is a decent prospect. He’s nothing like Jerryd Bayless or Monta Ellis though. He’s not even a combo guard. He’s a SG/SF right now, and I don’t think there’s a chance he ever plays PG in the NBA. He reminds me of Dahntay Jones more so than anybody out there. He’s very athletic, with long arms, a below average shot and handles, and very good defensively. Similar to Jones…
