Striver347ParticipantHe looks tantalizing as a prospect. He essentially looks like what Exum should be, a defensive ace who utilizes his length to create fast break opportunities. He also has been scoring quite efficiently, and uses his livewire athleticism to create plays when attacking the rim in the half court or in transition.
It appears that his jump shot is a work in progress, and the fact that we’re in preseason ought to reduce the weight of his performance, since teams aren’t playing competitively for the full 48 minutes. Suffice to say that Sumner is a tantalizing talent, and I would like to believe his style of play will only get better from practicing with the very guard who seemingly would be his ceiling, Victor Oladipo.

OhCanada-ParticipantMaybe its just me but the draft just seems so much deeper than it did a decade ago. Not sure why nobody has tried loading up on 2nd round picks in hopes of picking up a star player in that round. They are cheap to acquire. Mitchell Robinson and Hami Diallo look amazing. Diallo is gonna start taking Fergusons minutes. To name a few Trier, Sumner, Bluiett, Duval go undrafted. Your telling me with the right resources and staff around a bunch of those players players you cant start a half decent rebuild?
Is Christian Wood signed yet? SMH what are these GM’s doing?

RUDEBOY-ParticipantI think Milwaukee signed him to a training camp deal back in August. I read Woods has a great chance of getting that final roster spot. Becuz the team will waive 2017 pick DJ Wilson if they can’t find a trade partner for him.

cominup7ParticipantIdk if it’s deeper in actual talent, but it does seem to have more intriguing prospects than in the past because there are so many more unfinished products. It used to be that the 2nd round was where you could stock up on NBA-ready niche players who were proven college/euro stars, but now most teams are just rolling the dice on young lumps of clay they hope they can mold into rotation players
Diallo, Robinson and Sumner are all potential-packed players but they fell to the 2nd because of major holes in their games. I can’t say that any of them were drafted with a specific role in mind, just teams trying to get the most (potential) bang for their buck
