I’m wondering what you all think of this? I personally think this is a good move by the Suns. He was a great on and off the court leader for the Jazz. And he was a pass first point guard through out his whole playing career. He’ll teach this team to play team ball. He seems like the type of guy that won’t be afraid to sit Markieff at the end of that bench.

That’s just my opinion, it’s great to see a former Jazz player get a chance at a head coaching job, except for Ty Corbin, that guys sucks…

What do all you guys think of the Suns decision?

Hornacek was a good coach in charge of a franhise that didnt know when its in win-now mode or rebuilding mode.

Earl Watson definitely has the professionalism and pedigree…lets just hope he gets better support from his GM.

Yeah Jeff Hornacek is basically a victim of his own success. He got the team to overachieve his first year and the front office decided they were contenders when they were clearly still rebuilding.

Earl was a solid if unspectuacular pro who remained in the NBA for 12 years, that says something about his professionalism as he was obviously well regarded by a lot of coaches and GMs to have him on their rosters.

He may well have a good chance to get the Suns job if they don’t rush to make an appointment. Earl will have 30 plus games to make a mark on the team. It may not just be about results, it could be how well he motivates the players, if he seems to look comfortable as a Head Coach.

Earl is only a couple of years retired as a player so he should connect well with the players, I’ll be interested to see what his tactical and play calling skills are like.
