D HampParticipantYesterday I posted about how the NBA unjustly kept Connie Hawkins from playing in the NBA until he was 27. Now I have another gripe. Over the last few weeks, I’ve seen several posts from users talking about the best high school basketball players ever to play high school basketball and naming people like Monta Ellis and Lou Williams.
Honestly, that’s crazy. There are so many high school players who didn’t even make the NBA who would wipe the floor with these guys such as Earl Manigualt. Hawkins, Lloyd Daniels, Ronnie Fields and Kareem-Abdul Jabar are others. I’ll bet there are another 25 to 50 players we don’t even know about because they probably didn’t even play highschool basketball or dropped out of school, went to jail got on drugs etc.
True story, minuets after Jabar played his last game, a reporter asked him who’s the best player he’s ever seen and he said Manigualt, who never even played in the NBA. Just a thought.

D HampParticipantI don’t wikipedia anything. lol! Obviously you didn’t watch the HBO movie The G.O.A.T. about Earl Manigualt. And I knew about him before the movie. lol! And wouldn’t you have to at least know about Lloyd Daniels to Google him?!

D HampParticipantChill out? What did I do?! The guy said I used wikipedia and I responded by saying I didn’t so what’s the problem? Anyway, I’m just hear to spread the basketball love so I’m not going to be coreced into an online argument. And for the record, I wasn’t talking about the post on Sunday, which is the one you’re referring to! lol! I guess you’re the one who “seems to not have a knowledge of reading out what people are trying to say.” HAD you read correctly, I said “over the last few weeks!”
And more more thing, I knew the name of the movie was called rebound. Everyone knows I’m from Denver where, guess what, Don Cheadle who potrayed Manigult is from. So stop trying to call people out! I love your enthusiasm, but maybe you should chill out!Dhamp…the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.

mikeyvthedonParticipantYou may have a “knowledge” of basketball, but you seem to not have a knowledge of reading out what people are trying to say. I believe the post you were eferring too was making a list of high school to NBA players in the league right now (as they only listed such players and did not include Moses Malone). I believe most hardcore basketball fans know the GOAT and you do not need to kick knowledge on us Hubie 2. The movie was called Rebound by the way, starring Don Cheadle and some of the basketball scenes were weak, though I enjoyed it at the time. My friend, being a good basketball mind sometimes requires understanding of what others are trying to say and not just big upping your supposed knowledge ofthe game. Chill out.
