For_Never_EverParticipantThis is year has proved that this is the end of the Wade we once knew. He pretty much took 40% off the regular season games for the Playoffs. His speed is completely gone, and looks to be laboring moving since the begining of the series.

SpartanGloryParticipantLaboring or acting hurt so he can get a call?

DukeDaSquadParticipantNo one was saying that during the pacers series.

For_Never_EverParticipantPeople have been saying he is a shadow of himself. I thought he had one pretty good game in the Pavers series. However, the Heats as a team had their way with them and he was able pace himself pick his spots.

B-ball fanParticipantHe is playing really poorly. He seems to be playing at almost half-speed a lot. It works sometimes, but his game has become mostly just finesse nowadays, while it used to be so much more physical and explosive. He is still usually really efficient and has really streamlined his game, but he is easier to defend now that he is so much more limited on offense than he used to be.

llperezwell from a perspective of a fan who has no real rooting interest, this will add some intrigue to game 5. I mean is wade and lebron gonna let it end like this or are they come out fighting.

For_Never_EverParticipantWade is out the question for me now in this series. Its up to Bosh for the Heats to be the difference maker.

DolanCareParticipantThe Heat need to make this the Lebron and Bosh show for game 5. I know that’s not how they’ve played through the season, but that’s the only adjustment I could see working. What I mean by this, is Bosh needs to roll to the rim more with Lebron as the PG.
Again, I know it’s tough to make such a dramatic change in the Finals but it can happen. Wade’s role is lessened, Bosh tries to draw more fouls under the second fiddle role. Even if Bosh can’t handle the post play and effs everything up, it’s better than what has happened tonight.

Ghost01ParticipantWade has been more or less bad over the past couple of years. People confuse stats with actual play. Getting meaningless baskets in regular season games isn’t difficult. Wade sucked for the majority of last years playoffs, and while being more consistent, hasn’t been great in these either. He’s a second tier player now, end of story.

imAboutDatActionParticipantHe’s playing Harden-esque defense this whole series.
he probably thinks he still a max player. Riley better have a real sit down with him after the season to let him know he’s not worth max money and to take a real pay cut.

tidhoParticipantlol, Riley is great and all but I don’t think he’s going to get a guy that lkely can’t even make it through a full season anymore to rip up his $20M check for him.
~~~ "Hey Dwayne, thanks for stopping in. I know that contractually we owe you over $41M for the next two seasons, but if you’d settle for $8M per year so we can bring in Melo to take your shots for you it would be super." ~~~
TarHeelRavenParticipantThe explosive Dwyane wade we saw tear apart Dallas in 2006 is long gone. He’s still a good player, just not elite anymore.
d-grizzlyParticipantSo you make a topic just to tell us you think his athletic ability has decline? How insightful of you.
Fans like you don’t give any credit to the Spurs definsive rotation and awareness. Instead, you make it about Dwyane’s athletic ability.
HaleParticipantThe Heat Big 3 exists in name only. On the court they’re like the Big 1.5. Bosh is the half.
christebasParticipantWade is one Miami Heat player who WON’T be opting out of the final 2 years of his contract at about 41.5 Mil, especially after his divorce and taking less than both Bosh and Lebron since they’ve all played together. Wade’s just tired – 3 games in 5 days is too much for those knees
220ParticipantI hate to say this since I was a Wade fan for a long time, but if he doesn’t opt out and sign a lesser deal than Wade really is a loser. The Heat aren’t going to be able to win another championship with Wade taking so much of the teams cap space but performing like a good role player rather than a superstar. If Wade wants to win it all in the last years of his career than he needs to sign a deal that will let the Heat bring in a few more good role players.
tidhoParticipantwow 220, you weren’t much of a fan.
Wade signed a contract for $41M+ over the next two years. There is no reason he should be called a "loser" for playing out that contract.
0- Posted on: Fri, 06/13/2014 - 7:39am #918534
220ParticipantIn my opinion to purposely hinder your team from winning another championship when you have the ability to help them stay competitve is a loser/selfish move….but at this point Wade has his rings so he’d rather get his money.
I was a huge fan of Wade early in his career before he started making tons of dirty plays and whinning constantly rather than getting back on defense. You can say I’m not much of fan, but I’d say a ton of his actions later in his career are the type of thing I cheer against.
Toronto16ParticipantWade is in such a great position. He is basically done, but if the Heat lose Lebron gets all the blame. If the Heat win the title, people will say Lebron could have never done it without Wade.
thricethefunParticipantPlus Miami proably has too much loyalty to him to not re-sign him even if he has nothing left.
TyroberParticipantMy friend was screaming at the TV last night that Wade shouldn’t be on the floor and needed to be taken out of the game immediately. He looked like he had glue on the bottom of his shoes at times.
For_Never_EverParticipantIt became obvoius that the Spurs were picking on Wade. I did think Spoelstra did the best he could with Wade even trying to hide him at point, but Wade was just the slowest person in the game.
ReturnofthelemonParticipantMaybe the SG position needs to be addressed in the draft now instead of a big man. Also, Wade can help mentor.
0- Posted on: Fri, 06/13/2014 - 5:34am #918331
HaleParticipantI don’t even think Wade would be much of a mentor. He could teach young guys how to act and be responsible off the court and he could teach excellent footwork. It’s not like Wade is all that skilled. He’s probably the worst jumper shooter in NBA history when it comes to guys who’s perception of them is that they are good at it.
