I like the move. Wall will be the best PG Howard ever played with (Nash doesnt count because he wasnt in prime). He will get all those easy buckets Gortat wasnt greatful for. Its already a dysfunctional lockeroom so if Howard is as a bad as they say he is its not like he’s gonna ruin any good chemistry these guys have. Everyone knows Wall and Beal despise eachother.

Hate to see Dwight bounce around like this and part of me fails to believe hes this monster in the lockerroom but hes been given away too many times. Hope he can find a home this time.

    Wall, Beal, Porter, Morris, Howard

Rivers, Oubre, Troy Brown, Jeff Green, Mahinmi

If this team fails its because the chemistry is a joke. They have talent.

talent wise they could be very good and it wouldn’t surprise me if they are a serious eastern conference finals team.  My questions are coaching (brooks) and chemistry as well but on paper Washington is very solid.

Will Howard be okay playing a role similar to Capela? I hope so. If he is, the Wizards could do big things.

On Paper it appears to be a great fit. But Howard has to adjust to being a role player this stage of his career. If not his Battles with Wall would be more epic than Wall & Gortat!!

The East has a 1994 no Jordan vibe. For Wall and Howard, this is probably their best chance to make a run. Toronto has that mid-90s Knick vibe. Obviously Boston is going to be the favorite, but they don’t have LeBron. It might be daunting, but there isn’t 8 years of Groundhog Day with them.

What if I don’t think they are that talented? What if I think every player on their team is overrated, save Bradley Beal?

What if I think Wall is hugely overrated? What if I think Howard’s on-court impact is limited? What if I think Morris hasn’t been the same since he left the Suns? What if I think Porter is a role player? What if I think Oubre is Corey Brewer-lite? What if I think Jeff Green is the most inconsistent player in the NBA?

Eventually, Beal will force his way out of Washington, and the Wizards will be miserable with the team they have left. Then Beal will do big things.

I’d say given their track record, they’ll win 50 games, bow out in the first round, and find something or someone to blame their lack of success on … I guessing they’ll blame it on each other.

Health is going to determine how this season goes for them. They have the size, athleticism, versatility, and star power with their backcourt to contend in the East. Dwight should feast around the rim playing off Wall and he’ll improve their rebounding as he’s still among the elite in that category.

For a team that’s been marred by injuries and chemistry issues (despite Wall, Beal and Porter having been together since 2013), adding a player with a reputation as a locker room cancer seems like a pretty abysmal idea, but also unsurprising with Ernie Grunfeld still calling the shots for some reason. On paper, this team has no excuse to finish lower than fourth in the East, but inevitably will end up as the 6-8 seed and out in the first round (maybe second round if they manage to not fall apart in the regular season).

On a positive note, Dwight even at 80% is still a better rebounding/defensive presence than Gortat ever was on his best day, so I think their interior defense should be better if Howard is motivated. A big reason the Wizards have struggled has been their inability to protect the paint.

The other fit better together if they must unify against Howard?
