He started the season pretty slow as the Rockets tried to start Asik, looked for their 4-man, and were learning to play with all of the new players but he’s definitely used to them now.

In the month of November, Howard averaged 16.7 PPG and 11.6 RPG while shooting 56% from the field and 55% from the charity stripe.

During the month of December though, Howard has boosted his numbers to 20.1 PPG, 14.6 RPG while shooting 62% from the field and 60% from the line.  That’s while including a game where he played 18 minutes and was in foul trouble.  Without that game, he’s averaging over 21 PPG and 15 RPG.

    Big games during December:

    • 22 PTS, 18 REBS, 3 STLS, 12-20 FT vs Warriors
    • 20 PTS, 22 REBS, 3 BLKS vs Magic
    • 32 PTS, 17 REBS, 3 BLKS vs Blazers
    • 35 PTS, 19 REBS, 5 ASTS, 3 BLKS vs Pistons
    • 29 PTS, 15 REBS, 4 ASTS vs Mavericks
    • 24 PTS, 18 REBS vs Pelicans

Is Dwight Howard back to his 2010-2011 self?

Yes, if You watched yesterday vs pellies his speed, reaction and explosion were vintage 2010 before injury. There is no doubt at all he is right now the best twoway inside player, Houston actually could come out of the west. I like the Beverly/Lin combo, Harden is great (on offense), I absolutely love watching TJ and Parsons, I have no confidence in Casspi and Garcia, not at all, so if there is a possibility to get a reliable wing for Asik, Houston is my pick to go to the finals.

I don’t think they’re ready to compete for a title just yet. I feel like they need one more piece, which hopefully will come in the package for Asik. Iman Shumpert would look really nice in the red and white.

Gotta agree he has been playing phenomenal basketball, very quietly too.

And yes, he stunk vs OKC, but lets not look at one regular season game and say "this guy is a fraud"…overall, he is playing better than he was last year. That’s a good sign, and that’s something Houston can be happy about.
