CynthiaParticipantSource: http://basketball.realgm.com/wiretap/228851/Raptors-Agree-To-Deal-With-Dwight-Buycks
I was watching the Thunder/Rockets championship game and was wondering where Buycks was. Well it turns out he’s signed with the Raptors.
I was really hoping Thunder would take him in as their 3rd PG, and apparently Miami was pursuing him as well as their 3rd, but ultimately he chose Toronto to backup Lowry. I don’t blame him I’d take 2nd over 3rd myself.
He’s been a blast to watch on the Thunder summer league team and I wish him all the best!

TRC1991ParticipantHe had a tremendous outing in Orlando, he earned this spot. A true floor general, he and Julyan Stone will fight for minutes as Lowry’s backup

SiggyParticipantI wouldn’t call him a true floor general but he does have some good qualities for the point. I know he had that high assist game, but I think he’s definitely more of a scorer than a distributor. He won MVP in the french ProA league scoring about 20 per 36 pace adjusted on solid efficiency. His best attributes are probably his athleticism and size for the position as well as his ability to create his own shot. He’s also a Marquette guard so you know he can defend and has toughness. Good signing, better than Julyan Stone IMO. Even when Buycks cooled off he still looked the part because of his size, athleticism for his position and his break down ability.

RafterParticipantThe situation is ideal going into Toronto because they needed a back-up point guard and he should be a good under-study for Lowry. He really earned an NBA place, I know summer league is a take with a grain of salt type of event but he looked at times, as good as anybody there.
Hopefully Ian Clark gets signed soon.

PistonsFan22ParticipantGood for him. Really enjoyed watching him play this week. He earned a spot with a team for sure. I like that he showed the ability to create for others this summer. He has been a shoot first PG but he really put an emphasis on changing that aspect of his game and I hope he keeps growing in that area. I don’t put a ton of stock into summer league games but he was pretty advanced relative to the competition. Hope he earns a solid spot in the rotation for Toronto. I’d like to see more of him.
