Finally were on the cusp of another LeBron vs Durant NBA Finals matchup. 1st time both there teams both reach the finals since 2012(assuming nothing crazy happens with GS). Both teams paths have been completely different as I’m sure no one expected the Thunder to strangle the life out of the Warriors but here we are both teams a win away from securing another Finals berth. The casual fan probably expects Cleveland to win the match up and LeBron himself has probably planned to face the Warriors all year but I believe he has an uphill battle with OKC. Cleveland resembles the Warriors with high volume 3 point shooting as well as a variety of small ball lineups however I think the Warriors are still better at it. I believe OKC will pose the same problems that GSW have faced with there size, length and athleticism across the board at every position. Russell and kd are finally figuring out how to involve there teammates and it’s bringing there level of play to another level. Unless LeBron completely dominates his match up with KD I don’t see them beating this healthy thunder team and I think KD and Russ finally get their first Championship. Anyway that’s my early finals pick…who you got LeBrons Cavs or KDS thunder??

I’m not counting them out either but in the 70 plus years of nba existence 96 percent of teams down 3-1 in a conference finals goes on to lose the series. Not saying the Warriors can’t stay in that 4 percent if anyone could I’m sure the 73-10 Warriors could right? But I’m going with the percentages and they say no

Yes, and the raptors are closer to winning their series than the warriors are haha.

I am completely amazed but what the Thunder have done over the last two series. To be dead honest, I didn’t think they’d get past the Spurs let alone the Warriors, but lo and behold they’re up 3-1 and on the cusp of the NBA Finals. To me, playoff basketball has always been about matchups. I’ve long felt the Warriors matched up very well against the Cavs as they have a much better backcourt than anything Cleveland can produce and they have at least 4 guys than can legitimately at least pretend to guard Lebron, 2 of them being elite perimeter defenders (Igoudala, Barnes, Green & Thompson). However, the Thunder have truly been a revelation over the past 3-4 weeks. Their athleticism, length and physicality have completely disrupted and overwhelmed the Warriors and the supporting cast have really rallied around Westbrook and KD. Also all credit goes to Billy Donovan, who has absolutely coached his ass off this postseason. With all that said, I think the Thunder have got this. OKC in 6.

with the way Westbrook is playing it seems like the Thunder are very close to unbeatable right now.  I don’t know if he took not getting the MVP personally, but there isn’t a guy on this planet that can check RWB right now.

I know regular season matters very little in the playoffs – case and point this OKC/GS matchup

But man Cleveland destroyed OKC in the regular season. Think they won one of the two games by like 30.

Don’t know if there is something to that, but how did that happen and can the Cavs replicate that?

I think OKC takes it in the Finals if they play against Cleveland.

Lue is nowhere near the coach Donovan is as far as making adjustments within the series and neither Love nor Irving is up to the task of backing up Lebron against KD.

Plus OKC is well and truly battle-tested.

Also, regular season results mean nothing – I suspect Donovan was just using those games to learn about the Cavs.

Didn’t help the Bulls against Miami in Rose’s MVP year, or the Warriors against OKC.
