I started noticing it during the season but he made it work so no one really said anything. But Kendrick Perkins is exploiting Duncan’s recent inability to finish with his left hand and it’s really frustrating to watch. He just doesn’t go left anymore and when he does he never finishes with his left hand. There’s no left handed short hook anymore. He just turns and throws up a shot put with his right hand, trying to get on the inside of his defender and draw the foul or something, it’s not working. The only time he scores in isolation situations is a, still low percentage, right handed contested baby hook. Other than that all his points are coming off of pick-and-pop jump shots, wide open finishes, and put backs. I want to know what happened to that left hand that won 4 Championships and 2 MVP’s.

You know who else only goes right? Chris Paul, and he’s a top 3 PG in the league.

I know, I know, different positions. Duncan’s fading athleticism has probably made it more uncomfortable for him finishing in certain spots,

I wouldn’t say they ONLY go right, but they both tend to favor their right more.

But it’s alot of dudes in the L like that.

I am pretty sure that Chris Paul can dribble and finish with both hands but the thing is unless you have to use the off hand most players won’t.  Also It may have to do with Duncan legs because I am pretty sure he has been able to finish with both hands around the basket.

most people in the world are right handed and in most cases if you’re right handed, you’re going right if you can i know i am when i hoop until they prove they can stop it consistently

Guards don’t always have to be ambidexterous, in the post youve limited your options significantly and it’s much more important to use both hands. I haven’t seen Duncan use his left all year, and i’ve been watching closely i promise. He used to do it all the time. And if he still did he would be a lot more effective in post isolations.

For some reason I think the reason CP3 hesitates to go left is so he doesn’t have to push off that right knee. We try to ignore it but  we all know he still thinks about it, and that as explosive and quick he is, he isn’t what he used to be.
