If there were a draft of players that were only selected 1st overall, what do you think it would look like? What’s your top 5 or 10? .. Or what the hell do an entire 1st round of 30 people..

I can’t seem to make up my mind.. let’s just see everyone elses..

you think Yoa is better than Iverson and Baylor? Iverson won an mvp, and Baylor was just a beast 71 points in a game and averaged almost 20 boards in a season

If you look at the context of Ewing’s entire career, you’d realize you’d much rather have the guy who’s not going to "retire/get injured" after 6 seasons, which is the way I viewed it for the active players on the list.

As far as Ewing vs. Iverson, their career PERs are 21.0 and 21.1, respectively. Ewing averaged 21.0 ppg, 9.8 rpg, 2.4 bpg. Iverson has averaged 27.1 ppg, 6.2 apg, 2.2 spg.

Ewing was a great defender, Iverson was a liability. Iverson was a great scorer, Ewing was really good as well. In fact, per 36 minutes, their scoring averages balance out fairly evenly: Ewing at 22.0, Iverson at 23.5.

In addition, Iverson’s teams five times already, and he’s only 32. Ewing’s teams missed the playoffs three times – including his first two seasons.

Your list seems pretty good to me. I think Dwight Howard should be in the 18-20 range already, though.

Right now, you’d have to take Duncan. He’s still at the end of his prime.

Shaq can dominate still, but so can Duncan. And with Duncan, you get a dominant two-way player who can play 75 games at a very high level.

With Shaq, you get a great offensive player whose defense has diminished and who can only really go all-out for 50.

sorry id still take shaq…reguardless of his flaws he would bring titles and both at the top of there games shaq is better weather its numbers or other wise. i just cant go away from a player that dominate physically..ya’ll can pick who ever ya’ll want i still take shaq all day every day

Quincey, I think you have to realize, people are making two different lists in this thread. One is people’s view of the best No. 1 picks ever – and Shaq is above Duncan on those lists. The other is, of all former No. 1 picks, who would you want on your team right now. Duncan is above Shaq on those lists.
