HitsterParticipantI know I’ve mentioned this before but surely if the lottery was held earlier then teams would know exactly where they are picking, could arrange meetings at the combine. Draft entries would know which teams would be in the market for them. Teams could recruit new coaches knowing where they stand. Teams could look at trade options etc.
There would be winners and losers but everyone would have a clearer picture than they do now.

omphalosParticipantI think they want to avoid players pulling out of the draft to avoid certain teams.

HitsterParticipantI’d happily do it once regular season ended, when you have teams at the combine not knowing if they will move up lottery or not it seems stupid.
I get the point about a player possibly pulling out but very few players down the years have refused to play for certain teams – Steve Francis is the only one who springs to mind although Yi Jianlian had to be "persuaded" to sign with the Bucks after they drafted him.

ZachAttackParticipantDominique Wilkins was drafted byt the Jazz and he refused to play for them… Makes you wonder if the Jazz would have won a ring with him 🙁

HitsterParticipantNothing happened last year when we had the Lakers and Knicks both picking in the top 4, it could be interesting where Boston end up with their falsely high pick this year.

RUDEBOY_Participantlakers fans should be a little worried becuz the team with the 2nd worst record havent gotten the 1st pick since philly chosed iverson in 1996.
