MrManalo43ParticipantIf the order stays the same as it is now on this site, and the Bucks take Embiid (if he does actually go), and the Sixers choose next, what would they do?
I want them to trade the pick Wiggins THEN Trade it to Toronto for DeRozan and Valanciunas.
IF this happens:
A.) Toronto get’s the Hometown Stud to get people in the seats. (they really need this for the fans)
B.) Sixers get a go-to scorer and a true center so Noel can play more stretch 4.

jwall1ParticipantNoel a strech 4? How would that work, he has no midrange game…

MrManalo43Participantthat’s just me. Blake griffin came into the league with no shot and a similar situation: knee injury taking out his rookie campaign. because of that, he worked on his shot the whole time. (granted his FT are crap, but he can knock down a 15 footer). I have faith in Brett Brown, i think they’ll turn him into a capable enough stretch 4.

CameronCrazy11ParticipantI think Thaddeus Young has been playing pretty well this season at the PF spot. I could see why Toronto would want Andrew Wiggins, but if I’m the Sixers GM, I’m liking a core group of MCW, Wiggins, Young, and Noel going forward. Not to mention Tony Wroten as a solid player off the bench and most likely a second lottery pick unless the Pelicans luck out and end up with a top 5 pick. The Sixers could have one of the brightest futures in the NBA after it’s all said and done.

burgessfourParticipantNot a horrible trade but that’s not the way Hinkie rolls. Thad has been playing well. I will hate to see him go, but sadly since he’s going to have inflated stats the rest of the season since there are so few good players remaining on the sixers, I’ll bet he gets traded draft night. My guess is if the N.O. pick is in the 10-12 range Hinkie will try to package that pick with
Thad and a few second rounders and try to get up a few more spots in the draft. That is, unless he really likes the guys that project to be in the 10-12 range.0 - Posted on: Sat, 02/22/2014 - 5:10pm #873911

Sewok15ParticipantNoel is the anti stretch 4. He may be better suited to play the 4 now because he is still adding strenght but I think he projects as a center. With teams going small these days it is nice to have a player that agile at the 5 spot.
As for trading Wiggins for DeRozen and Jonas…that is insane from the Sixers standpoint. Those guys are fairly young yet but they don’t have the super high ceiling of Wiggins. That move wouldn’t make the Sixers a contender and would put them back where they were the last 10+ years fighting for a playoff spot with no chance to win the title. Draft Wiggins, develop him along with the other young guys..maybe take some more lumps next year and land another lotto pick and eventually it will pay off. I think Wiggins will be the best player in this draft eventually and trading a guy like that is just bad business.

SpartanGloryParticipantI usually hate knocking trade ideas because that’s all they are, ideas. This has to be the worst one I’ve ever seen though. Sam Hinkie hasn’t been methodically trading players for picks, to throw those picks to a team for a mediocre scorer and an over hyped foreign big man.
