Lotto StudParticipantEveryone "knows" Irving is the #1 consensus PG who will be taken off the board but do we actually "know" Knight will be the #2 PG off the board?
What are the odds Jimmer becomes the #2 PG in this Draft since word is out he is killing workouts?
Can we potentially see
- Cleveland-Irving
- Minnesota-Kanter
- Utah-Williams
- Cleveand-Vesely
- Toronto-Fredette
- Washington-Leonard
- Sacramento-Knight
- Detroit-Walker
Thoughts please?

cward23ParticipantUtah likes Knight more than Jimmer. The only way they said that they would pick jimmer is if he’s available at number 12 (after they select a big man at 3)

iguapops420ParticipantI sincerely doubt that Knight ends up going to Utah. Everyone feels he goes there due to the fact that they need a pg and he’s best available. But IMO, he’s not the BPA at that point and I see no reason for them to reach for Knight out of need when there is better talent and they have a fine stop-gap pg in Harris. Wait a year and go for a Teague, Kabongo, Wroten, and Rivers.

Lotto StudParticipantDoes anyone have a legitimate arguement to why Jimmer won’t go ahead of Knight?
Can anyone else see Jimmer in Toronto?

cward23ParticipantThe fact that the Jazz have Knight as the top player on their board seem’s Legitimate enough. They like Jimmer but they like Knight more (who had a great inverview with them and had a great workout as well)..Word out of Utah is they are open to trading the pick as well

Lotto StudParticipantIn all actuality if Utah does not take a PG, the next one will not be selected until Toronto or Sacramento picks so this is a very relevant topic.

cward23Participant^^very true
It’s said that the Jazz are thinking hard about selecting Kanter and then Picking Jimmer at 12 but the Kings are said to be high on Jimmer (The Maloofs are said to be the one’s who really want Jimmer bad)

Awesome-O-420ParticipantBoth are projected PG’s so –
Knight has better ball handeling – according to this site, ESPN and other draft website. Knight has the better physicals, speed quickness, and both are about the same in passing. Since they both project as PG’s, Knight is the clear winner since Jimmers advantage only comes from shooting – but Knight is also a good shooter. And this is all based of the information on the above mentioned scouting sites.
The big difference, Knight was a freshman and Jimmer is a senior. Everybody likes the unproven commodity more IF you can attach the P-word, "potential" to it. Not to mention Knight faced the better competition. People will argue that Jimmer faced more since teams game planned against him more than they did vs Knight – but the offense Jimmer played it is not seen in the NBA. BYU run’n’guns 10x more than any NBA team including the Warriors/Knicks/Suns.
Points are the least transferable stat from college to the NBA. And thats why people rave over Jimmer, cause he averaged just under 29 ppg. But history shows, points are the least likely thing to translate. Knights skillset translates better to the NBA because he much more half court pick’n’roll.
I’m going to stop here because theres no reason we should be having this argument. None of the above mentioned websites, scouts, or GM’s have put Jimmer ahead of Knight. Sac/Toronto have already said Knight is their PG of choice (assuming Irving would be but they have no chance to grab at present moment so they don’t mention him at all) And Jimmer is now in the conversation for Sac because with Utah and Toronto ahead of them, it looks unlikely they can grab Knight.(although they’ve expressed Knight is their favorite) The Maloofs have expressed a desire for Jimmer over Kemba/Kawhi, not Knight.
Try to not make it so obvious your face is nose deep in Jimmers @$$ and try to be realistic about his future. If he’s not Adam Morrison, Jimmer haters get mad, if he’s not Steve Nash, Jimmer fans call you a hater.

I can dig……I have never made a Jimmer thread but as we get closer & closer to the draft, I can’t help but not see a scenario, where he does not go ahead if Knight by the way people been suggesting he is a "Top 7 Lock".

I know it sounds cliche`, but no one NEVER knows what a GM is thinking on draft day especially at the last minute. We all have seen that Kahn is the true definition of Prime Example.

cward23ParticipantHe wont go ahead of Knight. There is no senerio where he goes before Knight. Don’t be fooled by the workouts and think all of a sudden teams think he is better than Knight because they don’t. Not one team has jimmer going top 5 according to Scouts. they all like him but they don’t like him enough to take him ahead of Knight

Lotto StudParticipantAs bad as I want Knight to go Top 3, but if by any chance the Top 3 selections go down like above….. I think it could be possible.

cward23ParticipantKnight only drops if the Jazz pick Kanter (the word out of the Jazz camp is it’s a two horse race between Knight and Kanter with Knight having a nice lead). If they Go Kanter they want Jimmer at 12 because they know Knight will all ready be off the board
