Yes, this article is exclaiming that former McDonald’s All-American Center Michael Dunigan is forgoing his final two years at Oregon to play in Israel. As a Ducks alumnus and die hard fan, I have to say, WOW THIS SUCKS. We were really depending on this guy, as we had nothing even close to a true center otherwise. Our tallest player is 6’8 now, which all but dooms us this year unless our guards turn into Villanova a few years ago and Jeremy Jacob/Tyrone Nared turn into Dante Cunningham/Will Sheridan. Wow, what a total killer. He supposedly will sign a three year deal. Wonder what that means for his draft future though? Does he become automatically eligible, or does his eligibility become Euro-ized and he has until he is 22 to enter? Interesting move, wish him the best, and I do think their is a chance you could see him drafted some day and playing in the NBA. Very big body, big wing span and a lot of potential. Just never lived up to it as a Duck. Maybe Israel will see him become a different player. Just really wished he would not have crushed our damn team in the process. After everything that has happened to us lately, this is just salt in the wound. I still think we will have a great football team, but our issues their are well known, but we also lost a ton of players after Ernie’s firing. The crazy part is, I just do not think Ernie was the reason behind many of them leaving. I really hope Altman has the recruiting ties he reportedly does, because their is no reason we should be in this situation. We are Nike University, and we should get top basketball recruits, it just should happen. We lost Wiltjer, that was fairly obvious, but I really hope we at least get a couple bigs. Know any? We can use them now, but next year will do. Well, I just pray for the Rose Bowl again, because the NCAA Tournament is a one in a million shot.

Man, this is a bad idea. I liked Dunigan. I thought he was a potential 1st rounder last season. He might get there with a couple seasons against some big men overseas.

As for Oregon, I say attack the 2012 class. Look for tons of 2 or 3 star guys who want a shot. I think tons of them are out there. They could also look for those big men who transfer.

Wow…this SUCKS. He never seemed like a good fit for Oregon. Dang, as a Duck fan I am pretty upset. Best of luck to him though in Israel. He should do fairly well given his size and strength.
