MachettiParticipantSince ‘Bron delivered his promise does he opt and go maybe to the Lakers and create a super team? At this point He doesn’t owe the Cavs anything and they should be grateful that he was there "golden ticket." When he talks about Cleveland in itself he doesn’t seem like there is any sentimental value there anymore for him. I watched his a press conference after game 6 and when he was ask about how much winning a chip in Cleveland would mean to him he basically said it’s for the suffering fans. Personally from what I’ve heard he wants to someday play with Carmelo and also wants to start more of a movie career. Most legends want to make a pit stop in LA.

Ahkasi ClayParticipantHe has done what he wanted in Cleveland, he got them a ring (the Champion Cavs, still sounds weird to me)
why wouldn’t he go back to Miami, or team up with his friends, or look for a new challenge (I dare you to get Utah a ring). Cavs fans can’t get mad at him, and he has very little left to prove. plus it would be fun to see.
but Lakers would probably be very low on his desired locations.

negguaryParticipantY’all Kidding me right???? He just beat a super team, literally!! Why would he want to create another one when obviously he’s already on one to an extent??? AT the end of the day he wants to WIN, everything else is irrelevant, he left MIA for Cleveland because they had more potential and young talent to keep his window open longer, why would he go back?? Especially with Kyrie there he can continue to play deep into his thirties and change his game to make kyrie the focal point.

HitsterParticipantI doubt LBJ would have left Miami if they had won a hat trick of titles in 2014 as he’d have had the chance of the first 4 timer in succession since the Bill Russell-Red Auerbach Celtics team.
I don’t see him leaving Cleveland this summer, he may take another shorter term deal as he hardly needs the security of mega deals and his off court earnings more than cover any shortfall. He could take the 5 year max and just have a player option virtually every year if he so wanted just to keep people guessing.
The challenge to lead another team to a title might be something that could stoke his ego so I would not rule out him possibly looking for a new challenge in due course but believe he’s definitely with the Cavs next season.

circumlocution75ParticipantThe people in charge of the Lakers have Never won anything Yet
Phil Jackson was basically running the show w/ Kobe when the Lakers last won in 2010
No one will talk about this but Lebron going to Miami & learning "What it Takes" to be Great from Pat Riley & Dwayne Wade
& then returning to Cleveland w/ an Owner & an Organization that was Not known for being a professionally run franchise at a Championship Level (90% of NBA Franchises are Not at that level either)
Was nothing short of Amazing ———– I can’t see Lebron going to the Lakers at 32 & starting from Scratch

Untouchable JParticipantLike what are people even thinking. "He did what he said for them now he can leave’. Huh?!? This is not a Chuck Norris movie, he;s not a mercenary.
People forget, it was assumed Wade was done and Bosh was weak, THATS the reason he left. He didnt feel they were built for the future.
He looked at cleveland and saw kyrie, the #1 pick, bennet at the time, and Kevin Love a free agent. He doesnt make that move if cleveland didnt have pieces in place
He doesnt want A title for cleveland he wants it for HIS legacy. He’s not goin anywhere

J-rueMykelParticipantBennet was never a reason LBJ went back to Cleveland, yes the assets, Kyrie, the number 1 pick, Waiters & Thompson were what was appealing. Love was not a free agent, they used that number 1 pick, which I still think was a bad deal even with CLE winning a ship, but you can’t really negate them for it now. Hindsight, Waiters really didn’t help much and they shipped him off when they realized to ball dominant guards (Kyrie included) was not a winning recipie with Lebron.
We can talk about how great CLE would be set up for the future if they had rising star Kyrie, and athletic freak who doesn’t need the ball Wiggins alongside LBJ for the next 4-6 years, but they won the championship and contrary to popular belief Kevin Love doesn’t have to score 20 for him to be effective. If you look at the +/- for game seven, K-Love had the highest margin, his threat of 3 pointers as a stretch 4 or even 5, helps give Lebron and Kyrie ample space to work with, and while his defense always takes a hit because of his percieved lack of athleticism and quickness, he is a heady defender who is usaully in the right spot, albeit it might take him an extra second to get there.
The real question is, if an appealing deal for K-Love comes up, do you take it if your CLE.
For example:
If Phiil Jackson offers you Carmelo for K-Love and two future 1st rounders do you jump on that?
I think the Knicks would be wise to offer this as K-Love is considerably younger and better suited for the triangle rather than ISO ball specialist Carmelo?I think this is a deal everyone wins with.
K-Love got his ring, but the ragging done on him by CLE fans and analysts would make me want to get out of town so I could possibly be the missing link between a repeat. Two shooting bigs would make a deadly Triangle in my opinion and Kstraps and Klove could be dynamic in 2-3 years. Maybe bring over Conley and thats a pretty nice big 3 for the foreseeable future. Not sure what they’d do with Robin Lopez as his contract is pretty lengthy and maybe a little overpriced for him to be a big off the bench but it’s pretty clear an aging Carmelo will be on the downslide for the rest of his career, if NYK is concerned with competing for championships and not playoff berths they need to get rid of him while he still has a percieved value, and it will only decrease in years to come. This is offseason is going to be constant fireworks, starting with the draft thursday! Get yo popcorn ready!

Memphis MadnessParticipantUh. LeBron and Kyrie look like the two best guys on the planet.
TT, Love, and JR have their moments — and enough to put Cleveland over the top.
If Kevin Love continues to rebound like he did in Game 7 AND find his outside shot then he can STILL be that third guy they thought they were getting.
Those five guys give the Cavs a lineup of death. Or, get an upgrade at center that gives them a pretty big team.
The only real rotation guy they need to upgrade is Richard Jefferson — and I thought he played a highly effective series. Get a younger, more athletic version of Jefferson and they will be good to go.
I can see Round 3 shaping up for next season…

halfdecayedParticipantyeah right, he’s gonna leave his team after winning a championship and having pretty much a free ticket to the finals next year unless something major happens in the free agency.. Like he would leave Kyrie Irving lol.. The kid just straight up outplayed Curry in the finals, yeah that’s right, the guy that people called the best player on the planet the whole year.. Kyrie is not even in his prime yet, cmon now

Memphis MadnessParticipantHitster, I wouldn’t rule out a 4peat.
Not LIKELY but possible.
LeBron is the ALPHA DOG. Kyrie looks like a perfect second option next to him.
Love and Tristan can board enough inside for anybody. TT is a better finisher and rim protector while Love is the better shooter and overall scorer.
JR Smith may not be a top shelf starter but he is at least a good 6th man.
LeBron is 31 or something.
Now everything has to go RIGHT, but why can’t the Cavs win 3 more after this?
I think they need to add some more athleticism on the wing. Upgrade that Richard Jefferson spot. Get a younger 3 and D guy.
And, I think that Cleveland can get the 2nd tier free agents, just maybe not the 1st tier guys (Kevin Durant, etc.).
The Cavs are in good shape. I think their core is only getting better as they get used to playing with each other.

Reptilian MonkParticipantLebron has a good team and will try and repeat and if he loses next year he will for sure give it another try. Expect him in Cleveland for at least 2 years probably longer. Sorry to ruin the media rumors by Stephen A and others hes going to La or New York the biggest markets to create hype and news

NYK2010ParticipantWhy would he leave when they have young talent in Kyrie and TT the Cavs have lots of talent.
They might not have the most but when you have a stud 24 yr old PG what is the purpose of leaving.
I wouldn’t want Love on my team because he’s not a top player anymore so why take on his contract.
I’m sure Lebron will sign another max deal for 1 year.
Also 4 titles in a row are you kidding me they barely won this title. It took great efforts from TT, Lebron, Kyrie and Curry, Thompson, Barnes having awful game 7s. The suspension for Green, Bogut being hurt were huge factors too. Lets not forget OKC would have made the finals and probably won if Durant or Westbrook trusted their jump shot in the 2nd half of game 6.
