mikeyvthedonParticipantThis is all he has to talk about? Can we just get over what color a freaking player is? Maybe than we will stop calling everyone from every country outside of Europe "Euros", or stop acting like all High School players entered the draft from this one school called "High School". I think he is an irrelevant nagger who tries to push buttons and we should care less about what he has to say.
"I have lost faith in the Hwhite players from America……", WHO CARES!?

Awesome-O-420ParticipantI’m not sure why fans/GM’s want a "white" player so bad as Skip implies with his argument. But I have to say I think it’s true. It’s natural that people want to look for someoen they physically identify with, it’s something that anthroplogists have talked about since the human race became more global, but I think we have or at least SHOULD be at a point where that doesn’t matter. I could care less what a guy looks like, (unless he’s overweight and undersized trying to play on my fav NBA team).
I have to agree though, if Jimmer were black, some people wouldn’t question his transition to the NBA as much, BUT I also think he’d be far less popular if he was black (catch 22) – which is sad, and it goes to my point that people typically like others who look similar to them. It may have been an evolutionary advantage in antiquity as some anthropolgists have suggested, but I don’t think it’s relevant in todays global, mobile population.

aamir543ParticipantLook, I live in Golden State, and Jeremy Lin is a magnet. The second he gets up to go to the scorers table, the whole arena goes nuts. I was a Detroit game, and when Lin crossed someones ankles, the place went bonkers! So not be stereotypical, but wouldn’t Jimmer do the same for Utah? Or Indiana? The people in Utah lobed Kyle Korver, and same for Gordon Hayward. I wish Skip Bayless would go back to arguing about nothing with Stephen A Smith because that is priceless. (I really hope Stephen A Smith covers the draft today, I really do, because those other guys are going to put me to sleep.)

GlenTaylorSucksParticipantIn my opinion, anything that comes out of Skip’s mouth goes in one ear, out the other. He just may be the most pointless "analyst" or "journalist" in America. He pretty much just exists to say stupid crap and get reactions out of people. I wouldn’t read too much into anything he says.

Scottoant93ParticipantWe’re looking at about 60 people about to realize thier dreams of getting a chance to prove themselves in the nba, and hes talking about color of their skin, Really? it doesn’t matter who you are, where your from, what color you are if you work hard, adapt to the league, find a niche you will stick around. Who knows maybe jimmer becomes a great player, Derrick williams is blowing all smoke, Irving is really not as good as we think, There may even be a late 1st or second round player that will be mentioned as one of the best of the class when its all said and done(these are examples btw, dont take them seriously), but whatever happens it will be based on how hard they work, how they adapt and adjust to the nba, what team and style thier used in, coach they have as well as mentors. I can go on and on but what it will NOT be based on is the color of their skin or where their from!

jacobkeyParticipantI like Skip most of the time but I think he’s off on this. I agree about Jimmer, but I don’t think it’s because people like white players more than black players. I think it’s because their are fewer white stars in the game today and people want to root for them when they come along. On the flip side, I think that Tiger Woods is/was more popular because he is a black player in a predominately white sport. I think we care way too much about race

thparadoxParticipantI enjoy listening to Skip Bayless because he’s such a great reverse indicator.
He is wrong so often that you can really be confident that the opposing view is correct.
Two words, Skip: KEVIN LOVE.

He just tries to be controversial all the time. So I didn’t even bother reading the article.

Memphis MadnessParticipantJimmer had a huge following but so did Steph Curry. Kemba Walker also had a great following. Could be an east coast, west coast thing with Kemba being big on the East Coast and Jimmer having more of a following outside the East Coast.
One thing I DO KNOW is that if Kyrie Irving had gone to ABD (Anywhere But Duke) then he WOULD NOT be a top 2 pick in this draft. There’s an East Coast bias in college basketball, as well as a Duke bias. Other than that great college players have great followings like Reddick, Rose, Love, Psycho T, Steph Curry, Durant, Jimmer, Kemba, and Derrick Williams.
Adam Morrison had a great following but he was a GREAT college player. Plus he was on Gonzaga which used to be everyone’s favorite underdog team.

ChrischiParticipantKinda bad timing to lose faith in white players after two white guys led the Mavs to a championship.
And Jimmer over Kemba if he was black? If Jimmer had the athletesism of a black guy, then probably but he doesn’t even if his skin color changed.
Skip talking nonsense like always.
