valentineI have watched about 19 of their games this year, and i would say that in about 16 of them the opposing team is constantly getting hosed by the officiating, whether its fouled but not getting the whistle, slaps on the arm, pushes in the back, moving/illegal screens. To me its the constant hacking and fouling that goes uncalled that is the worst, Draymon Green is the number 1 guy at doing this, and i dont know how the refs miss it, when i can see it blatantly every game on my television, he is so overrated, because he is allowed to go over the line with his defense. The slaps on the arm lead to the warriors devastating fastbreak, while its exciting to see curry wide open for 3 on a fastbreak, I feel bad the teams that are up againist this, i mean their is no way they dont know whats going on. The Rockets in the WCF last year got it real bad in games 1 and ganme 2, and ESPN refused to show replays of the multiple bad calls that went against them. I notice whenever their is a bad call called in favor of the warriors, the networks will almost never replay it.
Am I the only seeing this, im watching the Thunder/Warriors game in the 4th quarter right now, and the refs like usual are favoring the warriors… KD is getting hacked whenever he put the ball in a triple threat position

SeattleSuperChronicsParticipantDraymond acts like he’s never gotten a call before.

mercyman25ParticipantBut they tend to favor the team with the advantage. The money makers, the teams that the nba idealizes.

220ParticipantI was shocked in last weekend’s Warriors Thunder game that the refs called a foul on Kevin Durant with time expiring on an Andre Igoudala jumpshot. It’s such a rare occurrence to get a call in the final seconds so I was shocked. I don’t know if that’s special treatment, but it differs from what I’m used to seeing.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantGiven what was going on at the time and the general momentum of the game I wasn’t at all surprised that call was made. And to be honest it was probably right call.

BigChamp12ParticipantDefinitely the Hawks game! That’s the one I watched the refs take away from the Hawks. Schroeder and Horford kept getting hacked with no calls while the warriors shot free throws almost every possession down the stretch of that game.

Dazzling Dunks and Basketball BloopersParticipantPeople said the same thing about the bulls in the 90s, the Lakers of course, and the heat. Bottom line is that the really good teams with superstar players tend to get the benefit of the doubt more often than not. The referees are human and don’t think that they aren’t getting swept up in what’s going on in golden state too even if they’re not supposed to be.
I don’t think it’s necessarily a case of the NBA telling the refs to make certain calls to help the warriors win. I just think that on 50-50 calls more often than not the refs will tend to lean toward giving the superior team the benefit of the doubt. Not that it’s right by any means but these guys aren’t robots.

Andrew1984ParticipantSour grapes. Every year, in every sport, the losers whine that the winners got the calls.

ballislyfe25ParticipantThe only real thing I think Golden State gets away with, and the refs called it at least twice last night, is moving screens. Every NBA team is probably guilty of this and Boston KG was the master but screen setting is a skill and shuffling your feet/leaning into the defender is illegal and should be called every single time it is done.

OaktownWarriorsParticipantI’ve watched every game over the past 20+ years and the answer is No! Last night, OKC got more visits to the free throw than the Dubs and just last week vs the Hawks….Atlanta didn’t get whistled for a foul in the 2nd half until the last 3 minutes of the game. Curry doesn’t get a lot of whistles whenever he gets foul driving the lane. While guys like Harden, James, Durant, get more whistles.

tuck243ParticipantI said this last game versus the Thunder. Last year (and the year prior), Draymond was getting called for hand checking. It took him to put both hands on KD for the refs to call it. Like it HAD to be clear as day for the refs to call it.
As someone said above, once you start winning, teams get a lot of calls and non calls. Plus in the NBA the team that plays a rougher style of basketball normally forces the refs to lay off the calls because they don’t want it to be a foul fest…
But I’m with you "Skyrimownsall"… Draymond gets away with alot… He also gets low and MOVES players out the way to get rebounds. These are all situations he used to get called for. Now? He’s able to dictate the game because the NBA/Refs doesn’t want to keep him out.

Hype MachineReferees care more about keeping their boss happy than making the right calls. Same as any other workplace…
If they foul out Steph Curry on national TV due to questionable calls, the commish is going to be straight on the phone to their boss asking wtf happened and the referees will doing the Hornets/76ers game the next week.
Fouling out Steph Curry isn’t good for anyone at the NBA….
Steph Curry going for 40 because defenses can’t touch him is good for everyone at the NBA…

D7H7NParticipantKD got fouled so many times that game lol. He even got a foul for shooting a 3 near the end of the game. Why is it fair to cherrypick that specific event? You want to argue that GSW gets superstar treatment, you can make the argument that the refs did their best to keep the game close to make it exciting for viewership.
Illegal screening is something they do get away with though. It looks like a problem because they convert illegal screens into 3 pointers at an alarming rate. Why don’t other teams do the same then?
