Not saying there’s any real chance of an upset, but if Davis and Boogie mesh well, I can’t imagine the Warriors will be too thrilled about that first round matchup…

I can’t believe the Kings are settling for this package.  Why rush to do the deal now instead of starting a bidding war up to the deadline?

just don’t understand why they didn’t accept bostons original offer of the Brooklyn picks, or if that wasn’t on the table get at least this year’s bk picks and better young players from Boston. I don’t get it!

It’s a head scratcher with what we know right now.  We’ll have to see what comes out in the next couple days about trade talks that fell through.

Boogie is finally free. Something good finally happened for AD. Put John Wall on the team and it’ll be every Kentucky fan’s wet dream

Davis and Boogie…that’s the best front court in the NBA. Incredible. Kings can’t do anything right.

Thats not a great package. Hield, Evans, Galloway and the Pels pick.. surely they couldve got more than that. Papagiannis better be the goods!

Surely the Pels can now be an absolute headache with Boogie and Davis. If they can shed some of those bad contracts this would have to be an attractive option for free agents now too.

I love it, I kinda want the Pelicans to trade Holiday and whatever other assets they can muster to trade for Eric Bledsoe

Imagine a Boogie, Brow and Bledsoe trio in NO, that be amazing IMO

They sold Buddy, Reke and some middling 1st round picks into the Best Center in the NBA arguably, to pair up with arguably the best PF…in a age where everyone wants to go small, I applaud it…

Man, I hope Hield ends up great then. And they must still love Tyreke. He and Gay… that’s a lot of chucking. They’re gonna trade Gay still, right?

Holiday, AD, and Boogie are a great 3, but that’s all they’ve got. What are they gonna do on the wing? It’s not like they have anything left to trade besides their 3.

They literally just traded their 1st 2nd and 3rd string SGs. They better have another move up their sleeves before the deadline.

I know a lot of people really aren’t huge fans of the deal especially because people say the kings were robbed but I actually kinda like it for the kings. It shows they’re accepting that it’s time to rebuild and reconstruct their roster, they weren’t going anywhere with cousins whether it was because he just isn’t a winner or that the kings were unable to surround him with talent is yet to be seen, but now we can see what Cauley-Stein or Skal Labisserrie or Papagiannis can do. And if Buddy Hield pans out now that he’ll be more apart of the offense then he won’t be a bad pickup either. Evans has always been a decent role player and then onto the draft picks. They now have 2 picks that could both be lottery picks but one will likely be just outside the lottery in an extremely good draft. This move reeks of a rebuild and I’m glad Sacramento might finally be turning its organization around. Please let me know if I’m totally off the mark and am completely missing something or if anybody actually might agree with me.

Moving on from Boogie is fine but you have to get more assets than this.  Buddy could turn out to be a good player but so far hasn’t shown much.  The Pelicans 2017 pick is 1-3 protected and in theory the pick will be late lotto.  This deal sounds like a lhorribly one sided trade a fan would make up on Trade Machine.  Even with all of Cousins baggage he is still a legit star.

Obviously we don’t know the market for Cousins but you just feel like a 26 year old superstar should bring back a king’s ransom (pun definitely intended).  Just doesn’t seem like they got enough assets.  Only 1 first round pick? Which won’t even be that coveted as it will probably be mid first round.

I like the move by the Pelicans but it’s not all golden.I wonder if an extension is included. If the Pelicans may see him walk. There’s alot if risk here too with nobody to check Boogie in NO. That future 1st rounder could end up being a big pick with or without Boogie.

Either way I’m also shocked Sacramento couldn’t get more for him. Obviously teams didn’t want him to be a part of thier organization. Your telling me that Toronto who just traded a 1st and Ross for Ibaka couldn’t have added Poeltl another 1st and say Delon Wright as a trump over that Hield package? Seems as if nobody was willing to deal with the headaches he brings with his immense talent. Looks like this trade was inevitable and the extension talks were a smokescreen.

Kings did the right thing here. That franchise was going nowhere fast with Cousins leading the way and it was getting out of control.

     1. The Kings probably start tanking for a Top 3-5 pick and they’re probably praying for Fultz or Ball to fall into their lap

    2. Crazy thing is, IF they end up with a worst record than Philly and land a Top 3 pick via Lottery luck, they’ll just be handing over the rights to Philly whilst simultaneously increasing the odds the Lakers also hand over a Top 5 pick to Philadelphia if they are leaped frogged by Sacramento/Orlando/Philadephia

    3. Does Jimmy Butler get moved anytime soon? Is Paul George absolutely untouchable?

Do the Celtics have the balls to put the Nets draft picks into play? Seems like Danny Ainge couldn’t have been involved in any of the DMC trade talk, maybe he’s keeping his assets for the inevitable Paul George or Andre Drummond trade rumors near the deadline???

Maybe Ainge and other GM’s strayed away from Cousins because he’s a bit of loose cannon/cry baby? Id have found it hard to part with Draft picks and young talent if I were trading for Cousins

Vlade plays the role of Judas and brings down the team from the inside? I would hate to see that because when I started watching basketball the Kings were probably my favourite team and had amongst the best fans in basketball. Although there are so many teams in California and with the recent emergence of Oakland (Warriors always had great fans) and the Clippers it almost seems like a natural progression.

I would much rather an expansion though.

put together a better package & that Celtics team w/ Boogie, IT, Horford, Bradley would have been a Nightmare in the Eastern Conference

Pels GM must have said make your decision right now. If you hang up the phone & need time the deal is pulled, we wont be used for leverage. Vlade has now just made the Phila trade 2 years ago so much worse b/c not only does Phila get a top 3 pick if Sac free falls but they also own Sac’s 2019 1st round Unprotected.

And for people saying Sac Had to move on from Boogie, they are only 1.5 games out of the 8 seed & were closing fast. They have a solid coach who had finally implemented his system & they were playing Great! They just beat Golden State & Cleveland in the same week & They had a commitment from Boogie to sign an extension & Boogie said publicly he did Not want to be traded. It felt like they were Finally stable for a change. And Vivek & Vlade say Uck it & blow it up

The Kings probably value Hield very highly and that NOP 2017 very highly as well (even if it stands at 9 right now and should end outside of the top 10). One could argue that’s 2 major assets.

      Boston might either:

1)not want Cousins because Isaiah Thomas does not like him (very probable imo).

2)not want to give two major asset to the Kings (like both BKN picks), and rather settle something around one major asset (likely not 2017 BKN first, say 2018 BKN first or Smart or Bradley) and minor assets like Terry Rozier, Jaylen Brown (assuming the Kings do not like him as much as Hield), draft & stash guys, secound rounders plus a variety of salary dumps.

3)setup a Butler trade and can’t part with their assets and salary management for Boogie.

Good deal for the Pelicans IMO, I’m amazed that they have kept pick at top 3 protected, so if they lucked into the lottery could could add Ball, Fultz to DMC and AD. I’d have thought the Kings would have wanted unprotected or top 1 or 2 protected at best.

Surely there could have been better offers on the table, one of the big market teams may well have tried to lure DMC even if Boston weren’t willing to enter the fray.
