which player this year has the potential to be a dissapointment. A player who’s stats may decrease a lot from last year to this year.

    My thoughts:
-Hedo Turkoglu, had one good year in a system built for him, might not do well in a new system.
-Stephen Jackson, all the things going on with him and the team will develop on the court and he wont play as hard and just stop trying
-Lamar Odom, will get less minutes due to artest being better than trevor ariza who started last year, and that andrew bynum is improving and will also need more minutes, and where are artest and bynum getting their minutes from? odom.
-Kendrick Perkins/Rasheed Wallace, one of these guys will be on the bench and unhappy, after both guys played good last year
-Ramon Sessions, one of the more hyped up guys in the offseason who had a good coming out season last year, but got signed by a team with a rookie point guard who will deserve some pt
-Andre Miller, signed to be a starter, but is having troubles getting the reins, his value will drop

who do you think can be the MDP

Odom should not lose too many minutes because Kobe will play less and Odom can play almost all positions so he will find time on the floor. It is not like the Lakers bench is after Odom is that great. Sessions could have a similiar year to last year because in Miwaukee he had to share time with Ridnour. In Minnesota, it is not a given that Flynn gets more minutes at the point guard when Session is the better play maker as of now an also Sessions is not that old.

Andre Miller has the most potential to be a disappointment in my opinion. He had already said a few weeks after McMillian named Blake the starter before the preseason that if he would have known he would be a backup he wouldn’t have came. Miller may be the starter when the season starts, but I think Blake is going to take a serious cut into his overall minutes, and his impact may not be as big as one would have thought upon first learning of his signing.

I think Jackson will disappoint this season too, he has renounced his role as a captain and taking a very Barkleyeque stance in saying “I don’t want to be a role model.” In addition, it seems as if he is taking Nelson’s coaching actions personally. He wants out, he’ll probably put up good numbers on the court, but he will be a big off court distraction and bad for team chemistry which isn’t a good thing on a young team full of talent, but most likely losing close to 50 games this season. He’ll be in a different uniform by Feburary.

Why don’t GS just ditch Jackson? If he is intent on leaving then let old-man-river go. Give the minutes to Randolph, Maggette, Morrow, Azubuike…i.e players who actually want to be at the club.
