HitsterParticipantWhilst looking at the Atlanta Hawks stats, I noticed that this year Al Horford has scored 70 three pointers having only managed only 21 across his previous NBA career combined, Also Paul Millsap has achieved over 200 successful three pointers over the last 3 seasons only having managed 40 during his 7 year Utah career,
Getting the big men pittimng mid range and 3 point shots must be something that Atlanta have worked on. Both guys were good players before they started to fancy themselves as Budding Steph Currys and Horford had been a double All Star, But since they started dropping the 3’s Millsap has made 3 successive All Star games and Horford has got 2 more All Star nods,
With the Hawks having a renowned 3 pointer shooter in Kyle Korver and Jeff Teague, Kent Bazemore being good 3 point shooters too, it says a lot for the Hawks ambition to get already successful bigs to bring another facet to their game well into their career.
I’d fully get them may drummig Dennis Schroder to work on his 3 point range and have Korver mentor him but getting the bigs shooting so well has brought another dimension to their game and should be applauded.
Big Walter Tavares has yet to challenge Kristaps Porzingis as the best 7ft 3ins 3 point shooter in the NBA but that could happen yet.
