 Just watching TNT andf I respect Charles Barkley but I can never take him seriously know that he said Dirk is a better player than Kobe. Barkley is like one of my uncles that everyone has who hops on whoever played the best recently bandwagon. There is no way on this earth Dirk is better than Kobe right now

Dirk might be the more physically talented player at this stage of his career ONLY because he’s 7ft and plays like a guard while Kobe’s more of a skill guy now rather than relying so much on athleticism, but Kobe is on a higher level than Dirk right now and always have been.

Yeah he got nothing on him but a win 😉 The funnierst thing is that he Mavs were even missing their 2nd strongest player.

If I remember correctly Charles Barckley said last year that Kobe was a Top 5 player of all time and everyone hated on him, I don’t think he was serious about that Dirk – Kobe thing, I think what he wanted to say was that the Mavs match-up rather well with the Lakers and have a legitimate chance at upsetting them.

But generally Dirk doesn’t get the respect he deserves. People easily pick Pau Gasol over him, which is just wrong.

Charles says ridiculous things, but he’s usually right.  He called the Memphis upset in 5 games.. And the Grizz almost had it in game 5.. He called another upset here and it happened in game 1.

Barkley says some interesting things, he’s opionated.

Hard to compared a 7 ft guy even if he shoots 3’s to a SG.

The fact that he waited until game five to call the upset should say alot. Considering that Memphis was up 3-1 and only needed one more game. Anyway, for Barkley to be right is a rare thing sometimes. Honestly I think he talks to hear himself sometimes, but he can be on the money sometimes. Unfortunately for him this isn’t one of those cases. Bryant is way better than Dirk, and its because of one main factor, heart. Dirk is soft as tissue paper and if you can get inside of his head (See GS Warriors 2007 playoffs), then you got him.

Wrong. It wasn’t as much the Warriors ‘getting inside his head’ as it was the Warriors just threw different defenders at him and doubled him quite often.

Dirk has raised his level of play in the playoffs every year, it has either been the lack of a true scoring sidekick, some poor performances from teammates, or lack of a defensive presence inside that has hurt the Mavericks.  Dirk isn’t that soft.
