In my opinion these are the top 2 teams in the NBA…However, they both have weakenesses that could keep them from winning the championship…

For the Celtics, it is scoring ability….Pierce is a great scorer and Allen is still pretty good, but neither are where they were….They dont have one guy they can rely on to carry them game for game although Pierce is right up their, I would put him as elite with Kobe, Lebron, Melo, Wade

Lakers is mental toughness- Weird to say on a team that has Kobe but it seems like they often play lacadasically….They are far and away the most talented team in the NBA but if they have that attitude they could be beaten by a tougher team in a series such as the Nuggest

Interestingly the Lakers weaknesses are Celtics strength and vice versa

i dont see them losing to the nuggets in the layoffs..the nuggest were a better deeper teamlast year and couldnt do it now the laker have abetter bynum and artest…while the nuggest lost there best defender and linus…i do agree with the mental toughness part but they have proved in the playoffs that they can get over that.gonna be interesting when they get back there 2nd team all nba pf

I “like” the fact that he points out the lakers lack of mental toughness and then in the explanation he mentions them possibly losing to the denver nuggets!!!! LOL The contradictions are priceless, pierce isn’t the scorer he used to be, but he is right up there with dwade, lebron, kobe, and melo??? Make up your mind!!!! Based on his statements pierce must have been above those 4 and “fallen” back to elite status with them???? GTFOH

They lost their best defender but he was smoked by Kobe anyway.
Nuggets could’ve won if they played smarter end of games.
Key for them is beating the Lakers on the boards and for their big men to hit some shots.
With Lawson they are a pretty deep team, Kleiza was nice but he didn’t play that much.

Pierce doesn’t have to be an elite scorer they still have Garnett, Allen, and Sheed who can all have big games.
Once Big Baby comes back you’ll see how deep this team is no one has a better bench with Baby, House, Daniels, Sheed, Williams.

I meant to say I wouldn’t put him up there with those elite scorers, my bad….And if youre implying the Nuggets arent mentally tough than youre wrong…They play with a swagger and grittiness that the Lakers dont have….K-Mart adds toughness, Melo adds swagger, Chauncey adds a calm and stable demeanor
