Tyler Ullis falling to 33rd in the second round??? Was his measurable(not a word) and interviews that bad at the combine that his stock plummeted that far? Because every other site and from people I talk to have him going no later than 20. Please fill me in on the unknown, or is this just another reflection of laziness and poor content from draft.net?? Because I for one as a sixers fan would be astounded if he fell in our laps late in the first round!

     I really like the guy.

I know point guard is a DEEP position — but if you don’t have a good backup up you are in trouble.

Then you have a guy like Isaiah Thomas who is a 5’9ish demon off the bench.  I think Ulis can be a guy like that.  Or, more like the ORIGINAL Isiah Thomas (although a bit smaller).

    Tyler Ulis can play.

There are a ton of guys in this draft that I am not sold on.  However, I like Ulis.  Outside 10-15 I like him.

Not many teams need point guards though. There are only a small amount of teams who don’t have a legit starter and there are just as many teams who have 2 starting caliber point guards (Bledsoe/Knight, Smart/Thomas, Schroeder/Teague, McCollum could be turned into a PG if someone traded for him), who are probably available on the trade market. There are also some young PGs with upside floating around that could probably be had for cheap like Jerian Grant, Terry Rozier, Cameron Payne, and some wild cards like Ty Lawson.

Even if a team does try to target a PG in the 20s, there’s also Demetrius Jackson (I think will be the steal of the draft if he falls into the 2nd round), Wade Baldwin, Gary Payton, Dejounte Murray might be still around too, and others fighting for those late 1st round spots that Ulis has to contend with. There’s no guarantee he goes before any of these guys. If a team is willing to draft such a small player they might even go with the more dynamic Khalil Felder.

My point is just that any PG outside of Dunn and Murray could slip 10-15 spots in this draft just because of the lack of demand.

He’s undersized. He’s going to get bad projections on that alone. He’ll prove them wrong though. I like his game, he’s just gotta bulk up a little more.
