What guys who arent getting alot of hype do you think will be really good and be in the draft conversation in the next 2 years? I wanna see what guys people all over the world know are the truth before the hype. And this topic will probably be stored in some database so we can whip it out in a year or two and see who really knew about a guy before anybody else did, because everybody always says it but theres no proof.

Mine is Alex Stepheson of USC. That program is a small pro factory of sorts. There never that good but always have a first rounder or two on the team. Im a big Carolina fan, and he transfered after 2 years from there. He was a big factor on the defensive end, a little raw, but he has an unbelievable build and is a solid 6’9. He looks like a body builder. He was good but transferred for family health reasons. I think it might have had somethin to do with Ed davis and Zeller comming in, but who am I to jump to conclusions. Anyways, I think he will be at least a second rounder after the off year he had to work on his game, and then 2 years but I think he has first round tools.

From what I saw last year I like Jeremy Hazell and Eugene Harvey for Seton Hall. They both are good players but they play in the Big East and Seton Hall doesnt have any other good players besides them so they cant compete and dont get exposure. They are big-time sleepers.

I know the guy isnt really under the radar because NBADraft has him as the number 9 pick, but Devin Ebanks. He is versitle and has decent size. I dont know if he counts tho.

They have been hyping Wesley Johnson up like he is the next big thing. He’s the reason Boeheim didnt complain when Devo and Harris left supposedly.

He’ll have numbers, I dont doubt that. He’s the only person on Virginia’s team thats worth anything. I just dont know if his game translate to the NBA, because he doesnt stand out at anything

Since I’m a Big East guy, I’m going to have to say that DaSean Butler and Corey Fisher could be diamonds in the rough entering the next couple drafts. Butler can really fill it up, as he proved against Fisher’s team Villanova last year scoring 43 points. As long as he continues working on his defense he has a chance to become a successful SF at 6-7. As for Fisher, I just love his tenacity and play making ability. He reminds me a lot of Kyle Lowry.

Grievas is very good and at 6’6 he’s easily a top 5-10 pg in the nation. Also, Malcolm Delaney of VT

The kid was absolutely fascinating for the Puerto Rico U-19 team. He put up over 30 points per game during the entire tournament. A definite name to watch. I hope he follows through with a breakout Sophomore year.

I dont have any big east biased, those are just the 2 that have been mentioned I agree with most. I’m not sure about Landesburg. He had great numbers as a freshman, but they were really just numbers because he was kinda tall for them on defense, and the primary ball handler and scorer so his box score was well rounded but Virginia was horrible last year.
Wether or not he can make them win will determine if he is legit or not. If he can’t make them win, he isn’t any better a prospect than Grievous Vasquez somebody else mentioned, 6’5 or so combo guard who isn’t a great athlete and kinda skinny. I also really wish Paul Harris and maybe even Devendorf stayed. I think Devo realized he wasn’t an Nba player but was already a hot name in Europe so he jet, but Harris is an NBA player type and would have a good shot at the second round and maybe late first if he improved alot and was the leading scorer type for a ranked Cuse team. Onauku and Rick Jackson and the other couple of talented and experienced players would have been a contender in a Big East that won’t be as strong as last year IMO.

Alexey Shved is a true diamond in the rough. He has so much potential as a wing or even a tall pg. He plays on a Euro team with too many vets, thats all.

i donno if malcolm lee (UCLA) will ever be a pro prospect but he will do damage next year with increased playing time. He’s a crafty scorer who uses the glass well. He might be too small for the pros.

He and Jerime Anderson will be a decent backcourt for UCLA

Malcom Lee will definitely be an NBA prospect. He’s a 6’5″ combo guard with the ability to play either guard positions. His game is really comparable to Javaris Crittenton (yo-yo dribble, good one on one game, above average athlete). I would like to see him be more aggressive on offense next season, but then again playing at UCLA under Ben Howland’s offense how much of his offensive game will we really see?

Nic Wise had himself a great season last year, but I don’t see him being a TOP 20 prospect in next year’s NBA draft.

Sophomore Isiah Thomas from Washington should be more highly touted than Nic Wise. He’s an exact clone of Nate Robinson, just without the stocky frame.

Another Sophomore to keep an eye on is Klay Thompson out of Washington State. Klay has a solid stroke from three point land, but is also a capable slasher with solid build. Look for him to be one of the Nation’s top scorer’s next season.

USC has a couple of players to keep an eye on that should be considered diamond in the rough prospects; Senior guard Dwight Lewis who can score in a variety of ways, and has improved his defense each and every year. I would like to see him be more productive on a consistent game by game basis.

Sophomore power forward Leonard Washington is also a fast riser who only stands at 6’7″ but is in the same mold as players like Paul Milsap, DeJuan Blair, and Leon Powe where being an undersized 4 doesn’t stop him from out hustling and overpowering the opposition. He’s gotten very lean for his Sophomore season, and is poised to take on the leadership role for the Trojans next season.

I really really like Isaiah Thomas. And in the Pac-10, Jerome Randle and Pat Christopher are good as well. Cal is actually gonna be a top 15 team this year.
