Dhamp2ParticipantI picked a great time to come back. It’s like I switched number 23 for 45!Wow Greg Oden. What a devastating blow for the young center, and not so much Portland. Leg, feet and knee injuries have been the downfall of many big men in the league. Look no further than to Bill Walton, Sam Bowie, Zydrunas Ilgauskas and others.Portland, though not a deep and talented as they were a year ago, still have Joel Przybilla, who is more than capable of being a top five shot-blocker and rebounder, and the ageless wonder and my former Denver Nugget Marcus Camby, whom I personally prefer as the team’s starting center. As long as Oden is 7-feet tall, can rebound, block shots and shoot hook shots and free-throws with either hand, he is still a franchise changer. And while microfracture surgery is a serious procedure, it won’t be as bad as many expect because Oden isn’t over athletic and can depend more on his solid fundamentals.Dhamp2…the greatest basketball mind in the world. Next to Hubie Brown anyway.1. Nbadraft.net’s famed prince charming!!!0 - Posted on: Thu, 11/18/2010 - 6:43am #437664

RUDEBOY_ParticipantIts going to be very interesting watching what happens to him in free agency..
portland will be in a Bind..Do they resign him ,knowing that he is injury prone?
or letting him walk and be scorned by the public ..That will say the Blazers are cursed

goneParticipantWhat if the Blazers let him walk, and the Pacers take a chance on a hometown kid and he recovers could be looking at a very good PF/C combo or he could back up Hibbert

hiphopismylifeParticipantIm just really happy for this kid that he left Ohio State when he did. It would have been so sad for this to have happened before he got to the league. I want to say there is still hope because he is only 22(supposedly) but two microfractures might be too much. Not to mention the knee is only one of his problems. I hope he comes through it and atleast plays again.

HaleParticipantCome to Phoenix! Let our expert medical staff bring you back, and you are definitely an upgrade offensively and defensively over Robin Lopez (who I’m not fond of). Best decision of your life would be to become a Sun, just saying.

Da1potParticipantI think that the Thunder will definately contend for him. That would be weird, The number one and two picks from a very recent draft playing on the same team……

Meditated StatesParticipantCome to Boston Greg. We have the best medical facilities in the US. He can back up Perkins and get good coaching from KG. He can be brought along slowly with no pressure.

sacphil_08Participantwatchout rudeboy… when mikeyvthedon gets on here and sees that you said the blazers are cursed hes going to be obsessively angry with you! trust me ive gone through it once already lol its too bad for oden. he seems like a good guy but his body wont allow him to play which is really unfortunate. i think this solidifies him as a bust though unfortunately. yes we havent seen him play but i consider a bust to be a guy that a franchise places their hopes on in terms of success and eventual championship contention and he was supposed to be all those things. the time, money, etc spent on what was supposed to be a franchise changing guy is gone and portland has to go in a different direction. and no matter whether portland has pryzbilla or camby, this still sets them back in terms of overall growth. they might still be up there in the standings for a couple more seasons but this really set them back. guys like camby and pryzbilla were supposed to be ‘band-aid’ guys that you could add to your rotation of bigs once oden came back and band aid guys arent whats going to make a difference to get you over that hump. throw in now that reports have surfaced that brandon roys knee problems will make it increasingly harder for him to be back to his all star form in 2007 and portland has some issues. i wont say portland shouldve drafted durant like everyone else because oden made much more sense for them and you dont know if durant would even fit but how devastating for the organization. mikeyvthedon i know youll eventually read this. i hope this doesnt anger you in any way i actually feel for trailblazer fans and oden

sheltwon3ParticipantDhamp you are wrong to say that Oden is not overly athletic. His athleticism for a big is a few spots from Howard when healthy but it appears that is a rare thing for him now. I think with his lenght and height and also with the success of Micro fracture surgery that he should be alright. Hill went through much drama with his knee but when he finally came back, he has been on it. Oden needs to do a lot of yoga and strecthes and stuff when he comes back because a lot of his injuries could be because he is working out but not stretching enough and his body is so big and tense that it is putting a strain on his legs.

SubZeroParticipantOden should go to the T’Wolves or Suns. But we all know how obsessed David Kahn is with Darko so I don’t know how that would work out.
