AdamJCallejaParticipantKansas just beat Oklahoma on their home floor to take command of the Big 12 & Devonte Graham outplayed Buddy Hield. Incredible game on both ends for the sophomore guard. Originally committed to Appalachian State! Decided to take a chance at Brewster and ended up at KU. Played the best individual defense on Hield that we’ve seen all year. Offensively, he made some huge shots. Having a great year I think he has a shot at the league, still only a sophomore. Shifty, quick and a natural playmaker who can score at all three levels and is one of the best defenders of all the guards in the nation.

Jdean24ParticipantFirst of all I know there are a lot of KU fans on here, so let me say I’m a die hard Kansas fan. Now with that being said this was one game from the youngster. Repeatedly in the last month our guards have been terrible defending other perimeter players. He is a very good player but one of the best defenders in the country? I’d hesitate to label him like that. Would your opinion be the same had Heild hit some of those early shots? I didn’t see anyone label Mason a top defender after Heild lit us up for 46 in Allen. And Heild said on game st defender to guard him in his career.
I believe Devonte might be the best point guard since Aaron Miles, from a playmaking standpoint. Devonte is a far superior scorer to miles though. Which could cause an interesting scene a year from now if KU grabs Josh Jackson. Would Self bench Mason in favor for Devonte or Selden headed too the bench? Self seems too be very attached to his upperclassmen just curious what would happen. It’s doubtful Jackson commits too KU be a fun idea.
I believe Devonte will play in the leauge and will have a great career at KU. I just don’t want too overreact to one game. But the kid grew up today against the best player in my opinion in the country. KUs missing piece is a go too scorer in the clutch could he be the guy? Like I’ve said only one game, but he showed he’s not scared if the moment.
