I saw him play a time or two last year and he looked pretty good, and he’s projected to be a top ten pick next year. However there is no profile for him yet. What are your thoughts on him? I saw him play but not enough to really evaluate him. All I know is that he was a very productive player last season. Is he worthy of a top ten or possibly top 5 pick?

He has NBA skills but hes undersized for the 4 in the NBA and doesnt have the outside game that someone at 6’8” 235 lbs. would require if they were to be successful in the league

he can play. He put up 16-7 as a freshman and won pac 10 freshman of the year. I predict he will get about 18-9 as a soph and he’s my pick to win conference player of the year. Very solid all around game. FInishes well, can face up bigs and beat them off the dribble. Great hands and makes solid tough moves around the basket. Reports out of the lebron james skill academy was that he was falling in love with his jumper and that’s probably a good thing long term becasue he might be better suited to play sf at the next level. He’s 6-8 and he doesnt really bully guys around, more of a skill player. Thats fine in college, but at the next level dont see him ever being a go to guy against nba pf’s. Im a little bit surprised this site has him top 10, i viewed him more as a 20th pick range guy. But it’s real early so we’ll see. Arizon should be muched improved next year and back in the tournament and derrick williams will get plenty of exposure so you should hear more about him next year.

llperez is rite on point with that… he is somewhat of a tweener… i thought that we would be a late lotto 20 range kinda guy… but i guess we will see how he is when he comes back from the summer… hopefully though he didn’t really fall in love with his jumer and become a damian james and shot too much to the point where he is just tryna show scouts that he can shoot…. but hey 16-7 as a freshman is good

    Top 7 pick IMO.

I liked his game last season, I thought he was a lotto pick then. He has a game like Paul Milsap but he has more of a bounce in his game and has a decent jumper from about 10-12 ft.

Was very disappointed when USC granted him his release after Tim Floyd resigned as Head Coach at USC. I always knew this kid was going to be a stud, and had NBA caliber talent. Just sucks to see him do damage at Arizona when he should’ve been at USC lol

Haved watched this kid play since he was a sophomore at La Mirada High School. Very fundamental player, who plays with a high motor. Use to be known as a tweener side, but will a 3 once he gets to the NBA. Played the post in High School, because he started off just being a one sided post player.

But over time as he grew more into his body, and got stronger, he has added quickness, decent ball handling ability, and a solid mid range game. What I love most about him is how much he gets to the free throw line A LOT! Which means that he’s always aggressive and takes the ball the basket and never shys away from contact.
