steviechillzParticipantmark my words: no matter what position Derrick Williams will play, he will be a star in the league at the next level….this guy has a great future… one on one he is so tough to beat with his combination of supreme athleticism and brute force
I really hope he ends up at Washington in the nba…him and wall with mcgee and Jordan crawford could form a great lineup for many years to come..
Lastly before you get sick of me talking about how good this guy is, my best Derrick Williams comparison would be a shorter Amare stoudamire with better perimeter skills and better defensive effort. Look out NBA, Derrick Williams is coming to town 😉

delfamParticipantlooks like he’s forcing it tonight and shooting outside to much when he’s been dominating inside.

OhCanada-ParticipantExactly, Arizona lost this game because Derrick Williams took three 3point shots down the stretch and missed them all. Last possession of the game he tried to win it on a 3, and looked very hesitant to drive. He is a Power Forward, if he thinks he is a sF hes wrong. He can try to force it all he wants but theres no denying it.

delfamParticipant^ I think it’s going to take a strong willed coach in the NBA to force him to play PF, cause IMO Williams thinks he’s a SF when he’s not. If team drafts him planning on playing him at SF, Williams isn’t going to have the career he should, atleast early on.

steviechillzParticipantOhCanada……I think your overreacting by saying that Zona lost the game bc of him taking three point shots down the stretch….the guy is a 60% three pt shooter for the season and is their leader….I have nothing wrong with my leader taking shots he believe can make….UConn won that game….If d-will made those shots, then we wouldnt even be having this convo but he didnt…but I wouldnt go as far as saying Zona lost that game bc of Dwill

OhCanada-ParticipantD Will took those 60% three pointers within the flow of the game, most likely shocking his opponent, and ungaurded, not forced, underpressure, and gaurded with a hand in his face in the last seconds of an Elite Eight game down by 2. It was a bad shot and not his game, enough said.

Tongue-Out-Like-23Participant"my best Derrick Williams comparison would be a shorter Amare stoudamire with better perimeter skills and better defensive effort"
That’s pretty ridiculous because Amar’e Stoudemire with better perimeter skills and better defensive effort is an entirely different player.

andxxxParticipantDwill shoots 60% from the three because they’re usually good shots he was forcing it today

llperezhis only forced 3 pointer was the last one. He makes those all season and he missed them tonight. He was 5-6 vs duke from 3. Sometimes they dont drop. He was not the reason arizona lost.

FastAndFuriousParticipantThe reason Arizona lost was because of………………..Kemba and Lamb

UofAxWildcatsParticipant^^^ and because derrick williams was in foul trouble in the first half

HotSnotParticipantI thought DWill dominated that game the whole time he was on the floor. AZI had a huge lead untill his second foul… then Conn went on a 22-4 run… Dwill comes back in the game and AZI turns right around again. I know Williams stats didnt really blow you away but he affected everything AZI did on Offense and Defense. AZI was a completely different team with him on the floor. He just made everything flow better all the time. DWill must of been +20 or more for this game. The guy is very good and he’s my number #1 pick this season… no matter who’s drafting first, they should take this guy.

azertonParticipantThe headache about a perfect Derrick Williams comparison is over , I just found the perfect one …
Derrick Williams = Rich man’s Paul Millsap (stronger , more explosive & more range) , so what do you guys think ?

kobyzParticipanti think it’s nice but i’m sticking with my Derrick Williams comparison of Shareef Abdur Rahim with a little Antonio McDyess in him.
