A 6’3" guard that went from a 16-6 RoY, is now an MVP contender?

He went 20-6 last season, but let’s face it.  His jumpshot is much improved and he can easily pull out 24ppg. Adding Korver as a deadly outside shooter and an inside presence like Boozer will really help his assists, he can easily go 25-9 this season, thus making him an MVP candidate.  Would I put my money on it? No. But you can’t forget about him.

He’s my darkhorse in the MVP race, if he can boost him numbers up just slightly and lets say the Bulls end up 2nd or 3rd in the east, he’ll have a shot.

If Rose drops 25 and 9, he’s definitely in the conversation for the best point guard in the league. While I dont think he’ll reach quite those lofty totals, 21-7.5 is the projected stats for me.

No no no no. And his jump
shot is not much improved. This is based off what? His true jump shooting percentage doesn’t show much improved so is that comment based on what he shoots in practice?

Dark horse MVP would be someone in the 4-5 range

    In no
    particular order

    Lebron
    Kobe
    cp3
    Dwight
    dwill
    Dirk
    melo
    durant

rose horse isn’t even in the race he has no chance

"Would I put my money on it? No. But you can’t forget about him."

If you aren’t willing to put money on it, then why shouldn’t people forget about him. You are trying to make a case you don’t even believe in, which is stupid. Derrick Rose is an All-Star, and one of the best point guards in the league. He won’t win the MVP this year, so there is no reason to pretend he is a candidate.

and i think any point guard in talks for MVP would at least need numbers similar to what Nash was putting up

And what’s with people thinking I’m iggy out of the blue. Did I miss something? Like I said before that’s easily proven by ip addresses

And Derrick Rose has very little to more than likely no chance at winning MVP

I can see Rose getting slightly better numbers than last year. 22-8 is where it is at in my mind for him. There is just way too much competetion for Rose as a MVP candidate at that level. To say he would win it over LeBron, KD, or Kobe at this stage in his career is ridiculous. He is not even at their level yet. Maybe in 3-4 years, but definitely not this year. And not to mention his team would have to be really good for him to even be mentioned, and that is still to be determined even though the made some good additions this offseason.

A jump to 25 and 9 is pushing it. Making the jump into contention and actually being someone that is picked by people to win the award is a whole different story. Like being invited to the Heisman ceremony. Even if he plays himself into the discussion I personally don’t pedict him winning it.

Let’s keep the psycho "IGGY IS QUINCEY!!!" blabble in it’s designated topic.

I think that 25 points for Derrick Rose this season is very unrealistic. If he attempted to reach that number, his assists would certainly go down.

Does anybody actually think that Rose is better than Williams or Paul at this point?

is firmly in the all star game yr after yr category now. For him to move into MVP talk would have to rely HEAVILY on the Bulls playing above their expected prediction in order to turn some heads. With Boozer out the first month of the season it will be tough for the Bulls to rack up the wins necessary to put him into a legitimate shot at winning it.

Maybe at some point in his career he can steal one from LBJ or Durant.

Also, Rose did improve his jumpshot, his mechanics and confidence look better, but he still is a far strech away from being considered a "shooter."

Its like i didnt know who derrick rose was 2 months ago…
