Im not a big Derrick Favors fan. People keep on raving about his work ethic and athleticism but, the truth is, he is simply too raw as of right now. However, since he has only played 1 year compared to Randolph’s 3/4(?), I guess he has a better chance in having the better career (and he probably will). Randolph has been switching teams and still hasn’t had any form of notable success in the league yet, when you see him play, you can just see his natural talent and versatility. Hopefully a team (whether the Wolves or not) will be patient with him and give him the chance he deserves. So there. Favors will likely end up having the better career but, I’m hoping that it’s Randolph that does.

Favor’s, Randolph has already blown it to me and there are toehr big men like him with a better shooting touch. Favor’s ability to grab rebounds and his improving offensive shuold see him get the better career in the end, even if it all isn’t in the NBA.

PS: Why are you comparing these two anyway, they have completey different playing styles.

Anthony Randolph probably has more overall talent and (here it comes…) *potential*, but he doesn’t really work hard.

I’d go with Favors, not because I think he’ll be great, but because I think he’ll be a solid player at least.

Randolph is still 22, so he still has room to grow, but I don’t see him being a good player in the league. He doesn’t have the skills and mindset to be "the man" and doesn’t play team ball enough to be a useful player. His rebounding is below average and last season even his shot-blocking(only good thing about his defense) wasn’t that good. He did shoot a good % with the T-wolves, so maybe he is improving.

Derrick Favors has all the tools to be good and I think he will. He will be a starter putting up 17 and 10 during his prime.

I think Favors will at least be a solid NBA player, but it doesn’t look like Randolph will be more than just a "tease" at this point in his career. Favors might get some backup time and spot starts for injuries, but Randolph will likely not get any PT next year, as he will be stuck behind Beasley, Wes Johnson, Derrick Williams, and likely Martell Webster as well……

Favours is surely the best long term prospect given that Randolph has failed already with a couple of teams but hopefully AR can have a decent NBA career.

Teams always like the skillset of guys like Randolph so surely he’ll get a 2nd contract from some team along the lines of Corey Brewer in Dallas.

Its a known forum fact that Randolphs potential is higher than Micheal Beasley on Amsterdam vacation

I don’t know, is there one GM in the league that would do that trade? Of course not. Favors by a land slide.

the only gm who would be willing to trade the 2 straight across would be Kahn!

Anthony Randolph is the same player he was when he played for LSU. He has no work ethic.

Favors will easily have the better career.

It’s not hard to see… Look at Randolph. He’s over 6′ 10" with arms that go on forever. He’s a great athlete. He handles the ball like a wing and can create his own shot. He can finish around the rim with his length alone. He runs the floor like a wing. He has potential at the defensive end considering he has quick feet and has great timing blocking shots. He plays hard. I mean, how many 6′ 10" players come around that has the type of abilities he has? He has that combo forward Lamar Odom type ability.

The problem is work ethic and IQ it seems. He has holes (strength, shooting, no real position, etc) in his game that have yet to be worked out and it’s possible they never will be. I mean, that’s the way it’s looking, because like it was said above… He’s still the same player he was at LSU for the most part and that’s disapointing, because there’s no denying his upside.

Ok i gotchu…i wasnt saying u were wrong just looking for an explanation…

but i disagree…look at Favors, hes taller, has a bigger wingspan, and hes WAY stronger (hes got randolph by almost 50 pounds). Favors was the youngest player in the league last year. Hes a great athlete and actually tested better than Randolph did in each of their sprinting drills at draft time.

I will give you the ball handling but honestly id rather have Favors defense than Randolphs handles…esp since both of them are power forwards. the Lamar Odom comparision is intriguing but seems far fetched at this point…

I like Randolph but Favors has WAY more potential and hes better right now (and younger)…

By no means does Favors have WAY more potential than Randolph.  Favors may end up being the better player, but in terms of potential, that’s a ridiculous statement.

how can u say hes going to be a better player…but the worse player has more potential??? that makes no sense homie…

bigger, stronger, taller, faster…what else do u need?

Favors is definitely stronger, but there’s actually very little separating them height, length and athleticism wise. Randolph is slightly taller, while Favors is about an inch longer. Just by the eye test, I think Randolph is more explosive/quicker off of the floor.

The reason why I say Favors will most likely end up being the better player is because he’s stronger, looks to have a position and has the better work ethic.

IF Randolph had a great work ethic, added weight/strength and actually refined his game… I think he’d be the better player. He’s so versatile. You just don’t see too many players his size with that kind of ability. But there’s a lot of "if’s" with him though and it’s starting to look like he won’t reach his potential.

really we would have to see them in person…ive seen Randolph and he is an athletic freak…but ur right little seperates them physically…

if randolph gets it together he will be a beast….but like u said IF

I said he MAY end up being the better player, didn’t say he would.  So I guess all you need in the NBA is height and speed to be the better player with more potential?? Lol, sound thinking.  Javale McGee will end up being one of the greatest centers ever if all you need is height and speed….

It’s a pretty simple concept.  Let’s take Marquis Teague and Myck Kabongo.  I’d say Kabongo is the better player right now, but Teague has more potential.  See how that works?

yea im not an idiot i know what potential means…

but the difference is, those guys are in college…Randolph has been in the league for awhile now and has not worked on a few teams already

lol,  you’re still going on with this??? You made a bad comment, I called you out for it…and that’s that.  Move on kid.  Favors doesn’t have WAY more potential than Randolph like you said…sorry that hurt your feelings.
